I'm not sure if he's ever bowled a ball in his career, but get Ollie Pope on! The guy is a magnet at the moment.

Ha! Tom Hartley gifts KL Rahul a short ball and he cuts it, rather uppishly, towards cover.

There are cries of "catch!" but Zak Crawley just stands there, arms outstretched. He then realises it's gone past him and he has to go and fetch it from the boundary.

It was to his left and probably not a catching chance anyway, but KL is off the mark.

And breathe. Just a single from Leach's first, and we can actually digest that last over.

And West Indies' eight-run victory - with Shamar Joseph taking seven wickets!

    Test cricket, eh? The best.

Meanwhile... big news elsewhere in the world of Test cricket.

    BOWLED HIM.

West Indies have beaten Australia by eight runs.

  6. Ind 42-2published at 12.1 overs

Wow. What an over that was. Having scored 196, Ollie Pope follows it with two worldies fielding close to the bat.

KL Rahul joins the captain in the middle. Jack Leach is going to bowl for the first time.

    Incredible!

A tentative prod from Shubman Gill to just his second ball, and Ollie Pope does so incredibly well to cling on at silly point. He keeps low, pouching the ball just inches from the ground.

Two in three balls, and England are on the charge.

That's a smart catch by Pope. He and James Taylor the best I've seen for England in that position.

  9. wicket

    Jaiswal c Pope b Hartley 15 (Ind 42-1)

    Breakthrough!

Tom Hartley gets his revenge! Jaiswal prods one straight to Ollie Pope - who else?! - at short leg, and tilts his head to the sky in disappointment.

He can't match his first-innings fireworks and it's a big blow for India. Huge relief for Hartley to claim an early wicket, too.

Rohit Sharma is very highly rated and respected in India. A lot of it is because of his IPL performances but off late also how he’s changed the approach of this team.

  12. Ind 38-0published at 11 overs

    Target 231

Joe Root gifts Jaiswal a half-tracker which he crunches out to mid-wicket, but only for a single.

Rohit follows it with a clip down to fine leg for a couple. A steady, but confident start from this pair.

Mixed feelings in our house about our 3 month old's decision to sleep through the night for the 1st time yesterday and today. We've celebrated by getting up at 5am anyway and watching the cricket without her.

    Full toss, four.

Few more of those and India will be well on their way.

Yashasvi Jaiswal hasn't quite nailed the reverse sweep in the manner of Ollie Pope. He misses one, drawing another lbw appeal, but it's not particularly convincing.

Quite the contrast to the first innings, this.

  17. Ind 25-0published at 7 overs

    Target 231

No signs of urgency from India yet. Just a single from Joe Root's over.

Bazball gets the headlines, but what has really changed in recent times is that this side are showing the character that was missing under Root's captaincy. They can be proud they have dragged themselves into this position.

A couple of loose deliveries in the over from Hartley, but Stokes has given him protection on both boundaries so he only concedes singles.

He looks a lot more assured today, though. The debut nerves seem to have eased.

That's four out of four failed reviews for England, none of them even close enough to retain. Three of them have been off Hartley's bowling.
