Gripping the phone tightly every time a BBC Sport notification comes through. Hoping for another wicket and it's just about the tennis!

Oh, it's time for tea. It was so absorbing that I completely lost track.

A fascinating session. India started well, had a wobble, but have dug in through KL Rahul and the promoted Axar Patel.

    It's perfectly poised.

That's a bit harsh on our Alex.

After being unsure on Thursday, Tom Hartley has quickly become my 2nd favourite Hartley, moving above JR Hartley from the Yellow Pages ad. If he wins this match for us he will surpass Hartley Hare from Pipkins.

Spare a thought for Ollie Pope, by the way. Bats out of his skin for 196, takes two speccies in close and the thanks he gets is a half-tracker that he just evades as Axar Patel whacked it for four.

  6. Ind 94-3published at 27 overs

    Target 231

Rehan Ahmed's first over is a very profitable one for India and Axar Patel, who takes three boundaries from it.

A full one is thumped down the ground for four, a wide one is drilled through the covers and a short one is pulled to square leg.

That completely eases all the pressure that had built.

I am very late to this party but wanted to join the obscure Ollie Pope connection game from a few hours ago! I taught Ollie GCSE history when he was at school. I am sure his knowledge of 20th century Chinese history has helped him no end. I was very pleased to wake up with (more than a little) hope still here. Excellent work early morning people!

Webby, actually back visiting Cranleigh, Ollie’s old stomping ground, today

    A Mark Wood maiden.

It must be quite disheartening - he's charging in and firing it down, but the ball is only just carrying to Ben Foakes behind the stumps. Axar Patel gets through the over pretty easily, even if he doesn't score.

I never knew where any of my stumps were.

Brilliant from Rahul to quickly pick up on those deliveries heading down the leg side and sweep versus Hartley.

So many modern players do not know where their leg stump is. Anything pitching outside is basically a free hit.

    The lesser-spotted boundary!

    Make that two!

KL Rahul with back-to-back sweeps for four off Tom Hartley. Brilliant control.

Is Wood's reintroduction a win for the Axar promotion? Probably will not be a long spell.

Every single that India take is greeted like a boundary from the enthusiastic Hyderabad crowd.

Mark Wood returns for a burst, but there's no sign of reverse swing yet. It's negotiated pretty comfortably.

Is this going to day five?

In fairness, I don't think it's England who are getting carried away yet. That's probably just us.

I think England shouldn't get too carried away here; it only takes one decent stand in the middle order and India are nearly home.

Just a couple more from Joe Root's latest over as Axar Patel and KL Rahul settle in.

Hopefully most of you are settled in on the sofa by now, tea in hand. If you've got Sunday morning plans... cancel them.

A remarkably different approach from India to England's. Which one will pay off?

  20. What has happened so far?published at 08:05 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January

Are you just waking up on this fine Sunday morning? If so, here's your recap. Warning - you've missed a lot.

Ollie Pope made 196, supported by cameos from Rehan Ahmed and Tom Hartley, as England were all out for 420.

That left India a challenging target of 231 - something unimaginable this time yesterday. It was a stunning effort.

In reply, Tom Hartley has been transformed and has three wickets to his name as India make a nervous start.

Oh, and if that wasn't enough? West Indies beat Australia by eight runs in another thriller. Click here for the match report of that one.
