    Shreyas c Root b Leach 13 (Ind 119-7)

    India are falling apart!

Another soft dismissal as Shreyas Iyer loosely drives at Jack Leach and edges it straight to slip.

Bad knee? No problem. Leach makes another significant breakthrough.

    This could be over tonight.

The babies that we've heard from today have no idea of the brilliance that they've witnessed.

Well, we haven't heard from the babies directly, but you know what I mean. I'm sure that would be fun, though.

Ben Stokes you beauty!!!! More clapping practice for my 14 month daughter.

The blocking and prodding is getting India nowhere. Tricky situation for the inexperienced KS Bharat, as Tom Hartley continues to get the ball talking with a maiden.

He's bowled beautifully today. Credit to him.

It looks like Jadeja might have also done his hamstring in that run-out debacle.

That is the single greatest piece of fielding, resulting in a run out, that I have ever seen.

That is one of those moments that the more you watch it, the more incredible it looks. He could barely see the stumps. And he was horizontal to the ground.

It shouldn't be possible, but with Ben Stokes it somehow is.

    No dive from Ravindra Jadeja?

This is crazy good from England and equally bad from India.

Jadeja run out Stokes 2 (Ind 119-6)

He has! India lose their sixth!

Jadeja dabs to mid-on, sets off for what should be a single but the ever-incredible Ben Stokes leaps like Superman and backhands the ball in one movement to take the stumps, with the batter an inch short of his ground!

That is phenomenal. This is such an impressive performance.

How many times have I said "big moment"?

Either way, here's another. Has Ben Stokes produced some magic to run out Jadeja?

We spoke about the sweep yesterday and it’s surprising that India haven’t played more of that shot.

    There goes the pressure.

Tom Hartley gifts Shreyas Iyer a filthy full toss and he clubs it to the mid-wicket fence.

If an England batter were to put bowlers under pressure they know they have absolute backing by coach, captain and environment. Is it the same for India? They get huge scrutiny.

India have got to put the bowlers under some pressure.

    Three singles from the over.

Not a reverse sweep in sight. How times change.

Fair enough by Shreyas to move around in the crease. If India are to get these runs they may need a player to be brave and take calculated risks.

  18. Ind 112-5published at 36 overs

A big lbw appeal ends Tom Hartley's over but Jadeja gets a big stride in, so I think he'd have been safe.

There's an appeal or cry of "catch it" every other ball at the moment.

I hope we win but even if we don't I think this game shows that Stokes and Baz know a whole lot about brave leadership. Hartley may have had a grim first innings, but the trust shown in him could define the series. In Stokes we trust.

Ravi Jadeja is a brilliant all-rounder. One of the best, even.

And yet he's being completely bamboozled by Joe Root. He edges short of slip, dabs one to where short leg would (should?) before jamming his bat down at the last second on to a tricky one that shoots along the ground.
