220 looks like a very good score. Awful last ball to dismiss Stokes. And it won’t get better!
And that wicket in the final over before lunch sees the players leave the field a little early.
That has been a tough morning for England - and a mixed one. Some wickets falling from mistakes, others from good bowling.
It is not an easy pitch to bat on. Let's just say, it'll be astonishing if we even get to day four.

That has gone underground to Ben Stokes - there was nothing he could do about that. He's gone back and it's hit him on the boot.
Stokes lbw b Jadeja 3 (Eng 112-5)
My word. Ben Stokes is lbw to an absolute pea roller.
That was barely centimetres off the ground, skidding under his bat and pinning him plumb in front on the ankle.
Stokes barely waits for the umpire's decision. Nothing he could do there.
Jadeja and Ashwin are bowling nicely in tandem here, and at very decent pace which is piling the pressure on England.

Poor shot selection and good bowling have resulted in England losing wickets. Not the pitch. Just look at how Crawley and Root have played so far. England have to put their heads down and play quality Test cricket - Bazball or no Bazball.
Arvind, Bromley
Just one off the over as Joe Root defends solidly to Jadeja.
Time for Root and Stokes to play sensible, right? Right?
Phew!
Joe Root survives after a long replay, with the third umpire deciding that it was bat first.
Twitchy.
This is close. Is it bat or pad first?
Another lbw review.

That’s Bazball all over - partnership looking very dangerous but then a huge mistake gifts India a huge lift. Now Ashwin to Stokes!
Root and Bairstow were dominating, getting England back on top just before lunch.
It has just gifted India all the momentum and Ben Stokes has a tricky 10 minutes to navigate before the break here.

What a breakthrough - just as England were starting to get going in this partnership. Good bit of bowling. Jonny B will be kicking himself.
Bairstow lbw b Ashwin 38 (Eng 109-4)
Ah. More frustration.
Bairstow drilled the first ball beautifully through the covers for four, put all the pressure back on Ashwin.
He goes for a huge sweep across the line and is pinned on the back leg as Ashwin throws one fuller. The straight-bat shots were serving him so well, and it's another good start thrown away.
There's no bat.
This is close.
Ashwin and India think they have got Jonny Bairstow lbw, just after he hit the first ball of the over for four.

Joe Root is looking a lot more in control and measured in this innings so far.
Let's hope the couple's children aren't reading this live text...
Meanwhile, Joe Root cuts another off the back foot for four.
"Spending the children's inheritence". Love that.
