  1. 'We haven't seen any swing in this match until now'published at 14:01 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Middlesex 252-3 v Glamorgan 267-3 dec

    Guy Swindells
    BBC Radio London

We haven't seen any swing in this match until now.

Ethan Bamber might have got the second new ball to wobble a bit but not very much but Mir Hamza is actually getting a bit of swing for the first time.

  2. Postpublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Middlsex 268-3 v Glamorgan 620-3 dec

Leus du Plooy and Ryan Higgins are now into the thirties and their partnership is into the sixties.

Du Plooy would love a decent knock on his Middlesex debut having moved in the close season from Derbyshire.

Last year, in a struggling side, Higgins was Middlesex's Mr Reliable with bat and ball.

  3. 50 runs

for Matt Renshawpublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Kent 284 v Somerset 117-1

Matt Renshaw gets to 50 off 99 balls with a single off Matt Parkinson.

The Australia left-hander's conversion rate of fifties to hundreds is exceptional - in the 40 previous times he has reached a half-century in first-class cricket, he has gone on to register three figures on 21 occasions.

  4. Postpublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Warwks 333 v Worcs 360 & 58-1

Kashif Ali is becalmed by Will Rhodes, bowling wide of off and seaming the ball back in.

Just a single from the over.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby is back of a length and Ali is on the back foot, pushing the ball into the covers for one.

One more to Libby on the front foot into the off side.

A steady start from the Pears since lunch.

Matt Critchley and Paul Walter have nurdled five singles in the last two overs off Brett Hutton and Lyndon James.

That pushes their lead up to 107.

This first hour could be pivotal to the outcome of the match.

  6. Kent and Somerset back under waypublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Kent 284 v Somerset 108-1

Somerset had the better of the morning session of day three against Kent, with Matt Renshaw and Tom Lammonby going well before lunch.

Nathan Gilchrist has the ball in hand and we're back under way.

  7. Play resumes at Hovepublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Sussex 52-0 v Northants 371

Sussex openers Tom Haines and Tom Clark are ready to resume and hopefully from a Sussex point of view bat the host team to safety.

Northants captain Luke Procter turns to the left arm spin of Saif Zaib - who will bowl to Tom Haines from the Sea End.

  8. Postpublished at 13:50 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Warwks 333 v Worcs 360 & 55-1

Oliver Hannon-Dalby bowls full to Kashif Ali, who gets one turned into the on side.

Libby ducks under a no ball bouncer and a legit bouncer to end the over.

  9. Essex lead goes over 100published at 13:47 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Notts 293 v Essex 253 & 142-5

Matt Critchley gets a single and Paul Walter picks up a couple from Lyndon James' opening over after lunch.

That allows Essex to extend their lead to 102.

Lots more work to do to set up a threatening target, though.

  10. Postpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Warwks 333 v Worcs 360 & 52-1

Some good bowling from Will Rhodes, wide of the crease and nibbling the ball in off the seam.

The fourth ball is banged in halfway down the track though and swiped away to backward square for one.

Single to Kashif Ali off the fifth and and Jake Libby edges between slip and gully along the ground for four.

That's 50 for the Pears in 12 overs.

  11. Afternoon session begins at Edgbastonpublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Warwks 333 v Worcs 360 & 46-1

The rain fell almost immediately on the stroke of lunch but mercifully it has since departed.

We've been very lucky here, given all the rain both nationwide and within the county.

Great start from the Pears after the early loss of Gareth Roderick to the persevering Chris Rushworth.

Warwickshire will be keen to see the back of Kashif Ali. He's already on 26 off just 28 deliveries, timing the ball sublimely.

Jake Libby will face Will Rhodes from the Birmingham End to get the session started.

  12. 'An interesting morning at Hove'published at 13:36 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Sussex 52-0 v Northants 371

An interesting morning at Hove with Northants adding 79 for the last two wickets, led by Lewis McManus who completed an excellent half-century before being the last man out.

He was well supported by Ben Sanderson with an unorthodox but highly effective 27 in just 28 balls, and likewise Australian Chris Tremain with 22 in just 19 balls including a big six straight down the ground off Jack Carson.

Jayden Seales bowled beautifully on his Sussex debut taking four wickets, and his pace and accuracy will be a big bonus for Sussex over the coming weeks.

In reply Sussex have made a solid start with openers Tom Haines and Tom Clark looking largely untroubled in an impressive half-century partnership.

  13. 'Lively debut spell from Garrett'published at 13:31 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Kent 284 v Somerset 108-1

    Matt Cole
    BBC Radio Kent

George Garrett has taken the only wicket of day three and it was a lively first spell from the seamer on his Kent debut, having Sean Dickson edging to second slip.

But it is Australian Wes Agar who has been the pick of the bowlers, forcing lift and movement off the pitch when others in the attack have found it hard work to generate much excitement for the modest crowd.

  14. 'It's been Somerset's morningpublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Kent 284 v Somerset 108-1

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

It's been a good morning for Somerset, they lost Sean Dickson relatively early on, well caught by Jack Leaning at second slip.

That just after Dickson had been missed earlier on by Daniel Bell-Drummond in the slips in only the second over.

Matt Renshaw survived a vociferous appeal for a catch behind in Wes Agar's first over but since then he's batted calmly, skilfully, not in any real trouble.

And Tom Lammonby has been in prime form.

    It's been Somerset's morning.

  15. Headingley inspection at 14:00 BSTpublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Yorkshire 72-2 v Leicestershire 354 - rain delay

They haven't been able to get going at Headingley at all yet on day three because of heavy overnight rain in Leeds, and we hope for positive news when the umpires inspect again at 14:00 BST.

It's the same scenario at Derby, where Derbyshire and Gloucestershire await news of a possible start time for their Division Two match.

  16. 'Two wickets has represented a decent return'published at 13:14 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Middlesex 252-3 v Glamorgan 620-3 dec

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Two wickets in a session for Glamorgan has represented a decent return on this batter-friendly surface, but Middlesex are more than halfway to the follow-on target of 471.

After Sam Northeast’s epic 335 not out on Saturday, Mark Stoneman (97) and Max Holden looked well set in a stand of 120 with virtually nothing passing the bat.

But Stoneman, looking to bring up three figures, smashed spinner Kiran Carlson to cover where Dan Douthwaite clung onto a fierce catch.

Glamorgan's constant field adjustments then paid off when Holden, on 53, glanced Douthwaite to a tumbling Colin Ingram at leg slip.

Newcomer Leus du Plooy, the experienced signing from Derbyshire, and the dependable Ryan Higgins steered their side safely to lunch.

  17. rain stops play

Raining in Birminghampublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Warwickshire 333 v Worcs 360 & 46-1

The hover cover has hovered on at Edgbaston. And it is actually raining now - but it is not too heavy.

And it is also very well-timed, coming right on the point of lunch.

Let's see how it looks come 13:40 BST, when they are scheduled to resume.

  18. Lunch at Hovepublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Sussex 50-0 v Northants 371

One over of spin before lunch, bowled by Rob Keogh.

Haines clips a ball just out of reach of square leg in a seven-ball over after one wide.

Northants will be the happier of the two sides going into lunch after Lewis McManus stroked 50 and added 79 precious lower order runs with Ben Sanderson and Chris Tremain.

But Sussex have looked reasonably comfortable in their reply thus far.

  19. Lunch at Canterburypublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Kent 284 v Somerset 108-1

It's been Somerset's morning session at Canterbury.

After a couple of early scares, they've made it through to lunch on 108-1 with Sean Dickson the only batter to fall for 17.

Matt Renshaw (45 not out) and Tom Lammonby (37 not out) have looked fairly assured in their 83-run second-wicket partnership and will have their sights set on passing half-centuries fairly soon after the resumption in 40 minutes' time.

  20. Postpublished at 13:09 British Summer Time 7 April 2024

    Sussex 50-0 v Northants 371

Chris Tremain is round the wicket to Tom Haines and the Sussex opener blocks the ball into the off side.

A lovely drive through extra cover brings Haines four runs.

Tremain oversteps with his fourth delivery - and Haines will keep the strike with a nudge to backward square off the last ball of the over to take Sussex to 50.
