Speaking on 5 live Drive: "Despite all the hype, there have not been many major-money deals, especially after City decided against signing that Porto pair. Liverpool are still waiting on the Yevhen Konoplyanka signing, while Fulham's capture of Kostas Mitroglou remains the biggest deal of the day so far."

Wolves manager Kenny Jackett has already got rid of Kevin Doyle and Wayne Hennessey today, and Leigh Griffiths could also be off, but that hasn't stopped him from sending out another first-teamer on loan.

Striker Bjorn Sigurdarson has joined Norwegian side Molde on loan for a year, with Jackett saying: "He feels that the football will suit him better than in England and in particular League One."

    Whatever can he mean?

Almost a gasp of shock there as I thought that Charlie Adam had departed the Premier League for the Conference, but it turns out I misheard, in fact midfielder Charlee Adams has joined Lincoln City on a youth loan from Birmingham City.

Chelsea were initially handed a Fifa transfer ban when they signed Gael Kakuta a few years back. About 18 months ago I almost ended up playing with him in a 5-a-side game in Manchester and now he could be on his way to Lazio. A crazy few years for the lad.

  9. Man City latestpublished at 16:41 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2014

BBC Sport Chief Football Writer Phil McNulty

on 5 live Drive: "Manuel Pellegrini hinted earlier today that there may be some business, potentially the biggest deals of the day, at Manchester City. But it appears now that price tags are prohibitive and City don't feel any urgency to sign players and they don't need to add to their squad. So I suspect business is done for the day at City."

    Swansea City

BBC Wales report that Swansea boss Michael Laudrup says Neil Taylor will only make a transfer deadline day exit from the club if he manages to sign a replacement.

The 24-year-old Welsh international full-back has struggled to hold down a regular place in Laudrup's side since returning from injury, due to the emergence of Ben Davies. The Swans have rejected a bid from Fulham for him previously.

"We will only sell him if we can get a replacement," said Laudrup.

Taylor is currently in Swansea with his wife, who is due to give birth to their second child.

His agent says West Ham have made an enquiry about Taylor and Fulham are believed to have made a second bid.

Meanwhile, Swansea have signed Falkirk midfielder Jay Fulton on a two-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed fee.
