    Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of former Celta Vigo striker David Rodriguez on a free transfer.

    The 27-year-old cancelled his contract with the La Liga side this week and has signed a deal until the end of the season.

    BBC Sport's Saj Chowdhury: Shinji Kagawa will not be making a deadline day move away from Manchester United, according to his agent Thomas Kroth. The 24-year-old Japan midfielder, who signed from Borussia Dortmund for a reported £12m in the summer of 2012, has only made nine appearances in the league this season. When asked about whether the player would remain at Old Trafford after the summer, Kroth said: "That's still five or six months away."

    BBC Sport's Joe Townsend: With less than 24 hours until the Tyne-Wear derby, there are frantic goings-on at Sunderland.

    Liam Bridcutt has signed from Brighton for £3m but it is mainly departures from the Stadium of Light.

    Three have left on loan, with winger Duncan Watmore joining Hibs, David Moberg Karlsson Kilmarnock, and Modibo Diakite Fiorentina.

    There are still strong rumours than Danny Graham will be recalled from his spell at Hull City so he can rejoin his first club Middlesbrough permanently, whilst Stoke continue to be linked with a deal to sign Lee Cattermole.

    The countdown continues as we wait for some of the deals that appear to be in the pipeline to go through.

    Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov is poised to join Monaco on loan while Arsenal are keen on Sweden midfielder Kim Kallstrom. Manchester City want a pair of Porto players and Liverpool are still hoping to push through a deal for FC Dnipro winger Yehven Konoplyanka.

    In terms of moves that have already happened, Chelsea have signed strapping St Etienne defender Kurt Zouma, Fulham have snapped up Tottenham's Lewis Holtby on loan and Crystal Palace have swooped for Wolves keeper Wane Hennessey.

    Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha finally completed his loan move to Cardiff City today, and Reds boss David Moyes is hopeful the ex-Crystal Palace player will benefit from his time in Wales.

    "I said right at the start of the season that if I could get him the games I'd keep him," said Moyes. "If I couldn't then I'd get him some games on loan.

    "There were a few clubs who wanted him on loan but in the end we felt Cardiff was the right choice for him. Hopefully he will go and get those games, show what he can do in the Premier League and be ready to come back to us at the end of the season.

    "He's a young player - he has real potential. He did terrifically well at Crystal Palace and that's why the club purchased him."
