Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of former Celta Vigo striker David Rodriguez on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old cancelled his contract with the La Liga side this week and has signed a deal until the end of the season.

BBC Sport's Saj Chowdhury: Shinji Kagawa will not be making a deadline day move away from Manchester United, according to his agent Thomas Kroth. The 24-year-old Japan midfielder, who signed from Borussia Dortmund for a reported £12m in the summer of 2012, has only made nine appearances in the league this season. When asked about whether the player would remain at Old Trafford after the summer, Kroth said: "That's still five or six months away."

Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha finally completed his loan move to Cardiff City today, and Reds boss David Moyes is hopeful the ex-Crystal Palace player will benefit from his time in Wales.

"I said right at the start of the season that if I could get him the games I'd keep him," said Moyes. "If I couldn't then I'd get him some games on loan.

"There were a few clubs who wanted him on loan but in the end we felt Cardiff was the right choice for him. Hopefully he will go and get those games, show what he can do in the Premier League and be ready to come back to us at the end of the season.

"He's a young player - he has real potential. He did terrifically well at Crystal Palace and that's why the club purchased him."

Bournemouth have completed a deal to sign 32-year-old French striker Yann Kermorgant from Charlton.

The only other bit of business expected to be done at Dean Court, in or out, is the signing of 17-year-old forward Ben Whitfield from Guiseley.

Carlisle United have signed Manchester United duo Charni Ekangamene and Sam Byrne on loan until the end of the season. Neither Belgian midfielder Ekangamene Nor Irish striker Byrne have played a professional game.
