This is not good for the nerves inside Old Trafford. Rafael gets it all wrong as he dives in to Jose Holebas, the left-back puts in a dangerous low cross and Phil Jones hacks it out from inside the goalmouth.

Antonio Valencia then breaks clear for United but doesn't find Robin van Persie in an ocean of space. It's pretty open so far...

Decent start from Olympiakos too, on-loan Arsenal man Joel Campbell skips past two men and wins a free-kick. Phil Jones wincing after a heavy tackle.

"We need a Manchester United swashbuckling performance, they need to really go at Olympiakos.

"Adnan Janujaz is going to be a very good player but he looks a bit tired so needs a rest. Wayne Rooney will drop into the midfield and increase the numbers in there.

"Robin van Persie is sulking, if Roy Keane was here he would have had a word - somebody needs to speak to him. Van Persie was brilliant last year - quite simply though he needs to pull his finger out."

John: Been a United supporter since 1962 and in the 80s we often had less than 40 thousand at Old Trafford. But I cannot recall a team with such poor tactics and game plan. David Moyes has taken us backwards. We might have an aging team but also have some great players as well as good reserves. I wanted to believe in David Moyes but he seems totally lost!!

"No matter who you manage you are judged on results, the couple of the signings David Moyes has made have not worked so far although Juan Mata has been played out on the left.

"I think he has been dealt quite a poor hand but the bottom line is you have to win games, when you are Manchester United you have to win a lot more than you lose."

Adam Haxell:, external I wonder if United fans would rather go out valiantly tonight or get through and draw Bayern in the next round and get spanked?

Chris Hussey:, external We still believe.

Manchester United manager David Moyes, speaking to BBC Radio 5 live: "I think when you lose to one of our biggest rivals, Liverpool, there is always going to be disappointment. But we are over that now.

"When we got them in on Monday morning we told them this game was all that mattered.

"We will leave nothing behind tonight, we will give it our all and hopefully that will be enough to get us through."

"When Sir Alex Ferguson brought in Phil Jones and Chris Smalling as players for the future he would have have expected them to step up to plate but so far they haven't.

"You have got to change the whole of the back four with Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic on their way out, also Paul Scholes has never been replaced. In the midst of all the rebuilding you have to give the fans hope and you have to win games."

Niall Allen:, external David Moyes could easily get United back to a point where they're solid top three again, then if he can't make the push beyond to European success, maybe move on.

But to slate him constantly for losing with an awful team of ageing and injury prone players, with only two world-class players with no supply up front, is just moronic.

Bert Wouters: , externalI think he's a good manager, but not for Manchester United. He looks stressed and tired, no ideas and like this it's better to leave the club.

Telegraph sports journalist Mark Ogden: "It has been noticeable that fan support is draining away, I have struggled to find many outside the club who want him to stay.

"The guy who chose the next manager was Sir Alex Ferguson, the one thing that has kept David Moyes in his position is the fans but losing to Liverpool at the weekend, I think this situation is changing. The Glazers will say they gave the former manager a choice and they gave him a chance and the fans no longer want him.

"I think it is game by game now, a good performance will banish the clouds for a while but he has tough fixtures coming up. They have to win tonight."

"Apart from the first leg we have played well in this competition this season so we will try and replicate that tonight."
