Bobby Lewandowski is moving to Bayern Munich in the summer, and I suspect there were a few other European big guns with designs on his services before he plumped for the defending champions.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is certainly a big fan, saying ahead of tonight's game: "Lewandowski is a fantastic player and extremely dangerous.

"He is the key player for the type of football Borussia Dortmund play. Dortmund will try everything to turn around the result from the first leg. It will be an extremely intensive game and we need a good day."

Another man dreaming of goals tonight is Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, who knows his side need close to a miracle to stop the Real Madrid steamroller in Germany tonight. But like Chelsea, Dortmund can point to past glories - in particular last season when Lewandowski scored four goals in one glorious night against Real. Can it happen again?

"If you think that I will score four goals just like last season then that is crazy. But we still remain dangerous, especially at home," he said in the build-up to the game. "We are different team than last year. But we still have good players and great potential."

What makes Jose so confident then? Ah, it's simple really - he reckons Chelsea will score more goals than PSG...

"I think we are going to win, really," Mourinho said. "In the end of the two legs, I think we are going to score more goals than them. In this moment it's 3-1, I think in the end it can be 4-3 or 5-4."

That's that then. Thanks for joining us for tonight's live text...

Ever since he ran the length of the Old Trafford touchline after shocking Manchester United as Porto manager, Jose Mourinho has made a habit of springing surprises in the most revered competition of them all. So can he do it again, and preserve his record of never tasting defeat in eight Champions League quarter-finals over two legs?

"I believe and my players believe. That's the most important thing," said the two-time Champions League winner in his pre-match news conference.

  6. Championship previewpublished at 18:55 British Summer Time 8 April 2014

There's a full programme of Championship fixtures this evening, and while already-promoted leaders Leicester host Brighton, the stand-out match is arguably at Oakwell, where Burnley - 10 points clear in the second automatic promotion place - will aim to get a step closer to the Premier League against a Barnsley side who could move out of the relegation zone if they win.

And the Clarets might be helped out in their promotion bid by their local rivals Blackburn, who are at home to third-placed QPR. Of the other teams in the play-off spots, Derby visit Blackpool, Wigan host next-to-bottom Millwall and Reading are at Bournemouth. There's also a vital relegation get-together at The Valley, where Yeovil - currently propping up the division - could move level on points with fourth-from-bottom Charlton with a victory.

Andrew: PSG's third goal in stoppage time last week has completely changed the landscape of this tie. At 1-2 you would really have fancied Chelsea's chances of progressing tonight, but now at 1-3 they have a mountain to climb. Mourinho will have to be at his brilliant best tonight.

Chris: Gonna stick my neck out here and predict a repeat of the 2008 final. Cracks appearing in Bayern's armour and never discount the Mourinho effect.

Tim, London: Comebacks? How about Fulham vs Juventus in the Europa League. Bobby Zamora making mincemeat of World Cup winning Italy Captain, Fabio Cannavaro. Just an incredible night.

Cristiano Ronaldo is on the bench for Real Madrid but Wales international Gareth Bale starts for the Spanish giants. Ronaldo picked up a knee injury in the first leg last week and did not play in Real's 4-0 win against Real Sociedad at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund are able to welcome Robert Lewandowski back from suspension and he leads the line for the German side.

  9. Team newspublished at 18:45 British Summer Time 8 April 2014

Samuel Eto'o, who has scored all 11 of his Chelsea goals at Stamford Bridge, returns to the Blues starting line-up after recovering from a hamstring injury. The Cameroon forward replaces Andre Schurrle, whilst veteran Frank Lampard takes over from suspended midfielder Ramires.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic ruled out for PSG by a hamstring injury, Lucas Moura is included by coach Laurent Blanc with Edinson Cavani given a more central attacking role.

Chief football writer Phil McNulty at Stamford Bridge

"Jose Mourinho will want to make it another special Champions League night at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea try to haul in PSG's 3-1 lead from this quarter-final first leg. PSG are without the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic but the threat remains from their outstanding Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani.

"Mourinho lost two Champions League semi-finals, both to Liverpool, in his first spell at Chelsea and knows his side must produce a big performance if he is to have an opportunity to put that record straight."

It's not all about Chelsea tonight though, because we'll be seeing if Borussia Dortmund can climb their Everest and somehow find four goals without reply to knock CR7 and Real Madrid out of Europe.

And we'll also keep you bang up-to-date with a full programme of fixtures in the Championship. Leicester might be able to hold a four-month promotion party, but there's still plenty to play for elsewhere - at both ends of the table.

  13. BREAKING TEAM NEWSpublished at 18:37 British Summer Time 8 April 2014

Good news Chelsea fans - Samuel Eto'o starts up front for tonight's match, replacing Andre Schurrle from last week's first leg. Frank Lampard is also in for Ramires. We'll bring you the full teams shortly.

Yes Chelsea fans, there is still hope that your boys can somehow come from 3-1 down against Paris St-Germain and help to keep the Premier League flag flying in the Champions League. Reasons to be cheerful? OK, here's three...

    1. Paris St-Germain are without Zlatan Ibrahimovic

    2. Samuel Eto'o should be fit, so Chelsea might actually employ a striker tonight

    3. You've done it before! Just ask PSG's ex-Napoli players Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani.
