Jose says the Atletico fans are 'from another dimension.' Brilliant.

  2. Okey-Kokepublished at 19:37 British Summer Time 22 April 2014

Chelsea will have to keep an eye on the Atletico number six - Koke. He scored the winner against Barcelona last time out and the great man himself, Xavi, believes he will be his successor as "the orchestrator" of Spain's playing style.

Barcelona's Xavi, 34, is coming towards the end of a stunning career at the top level, while the 22-year-old Koke is emerging as one of the best Spanish creative midfielders.

"Koke is an extraordinary footballer," Xavi said. "He has everything: talent, physical ability, he is a footballer of the present and the future.

"He has been marked out as the conductor of Spain's orchestra for the next 10 years."

The atmosphere in the Vicente Calderon is cracking. The one time I went there I thoroughly enjoyed myself but ended up ankle deep in sunflower seeds. They love chewing on a seed in Madrid...

Former Charlton manager Chris Powell, who was on the same coaching course as Ryan Giggs: "He was born to coach and born to lead. He's captained the club and knows what it means to play for that club.

"I'm sure they'll go for a manager with a lot of experience but maybe he'll be part of that team moving forward."

James, Blackpool via text: Cannot believe there are still people who have any respect for JM. Acted like a petulant child after the Sunderland game and should be ashamed of himself.

George, Cambridge via text: So many times its been said Chelsea will park the bus this season, so many times they haven't done that.

Andy, Yeovil via text: This is a defensive line up and that maybe is Jose's ploy but he's got to go with what he's got. Hazard and Eto'o injured, Salah cup tied and Ivanovic banned. What's wrong with defending away from home and trying to steal an away goal on the break?

Just 20 minutes away from kick-off and you pessimistic lot have convinced me now, we are in for a torrid stalemate of a game in Madrid.

I don't think Diego Simeone will settle for that though. The Atleti boss sent his side out at whirlwind pace against Barca last time out. Same again?

Robert Montford:, external I'm hoping Atletico can maintain there intensity throughout the game and run Chelsea in to the ground. Can't wait for Sunday.

Seb Zabby: , externalThis will be a tight defensive game, and it's the right game plan from Chelsea, just look what happened to Barca.

Sam Payne: , externalWhat's wrong with a defensive line-up away from home in semi final against top team in La Liga. Mourinho knows his teams limits.

  8. Man Utd latestpublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 22 April 2014

    BBC Radio 5 live

Wilf McGuinness, who took over from Sir Matt Busby as Manchester United manager: "David Moyes will feel terrible and very disappointed. This happens in football. Unfortunately it hasn't worked out for him and I'm sorry to see him go. Manchester United must get success.

"He's big enough and has the experience. There's plenty of clubs he can go to and he's good enough to go to them and succeed."

  9. ON A YELLOWpublished at 19:20 British Summer Time 22 April 2014

Nobody wants to miss a Champions League final through suspension. Perhaps Branislav Ivanovic learned his lesson last time so made sure he was banned tonight instead.

Both sides have players a booking away from a ban tonight. Chelsea will be without David Luiz, Frank Lampard, John Mikel Obi and Willian in the second leg if they pick up a yellow this evening, while Atleti will have worries over Koke, Gabi and Juanfran.

  10. Championship previewpublished at 19:15 British Summer Time 22 April 2014

Long-time leaders Leicester City will claim the Championship title with two games to spare by earning a first win at Bolton Wanderers for 21 years tonight.

Despite just one victory in six, Reading can return to the play-off places by beating mid-table Middlesbrough, who go in search of a third consecutive away win at the Madejski Stadium.

  11. Camp Nou dig it...?published at 19:15 British Summer Time 22 April 2014

I recall a Chelsea semi-final in Spain a few years ago, John Terry was sent-off, Ramires scored a brilliant chip and Fernando Torres won it in the last minute on the break.

It was one of the most ridiculous games I've ever seen. Could we have 10% of the drama tonight?

William Taylor: , externalAtletico are a strong, hard working team but are amazing with the ball. Jose sensibly prepared for a night without the ball.

Akhil Dhoot: , externalThis is what I hate about Mourinho. It's such an important match and he makes it boring by parking the bus. Disappointing.

Rob Alderman:, external Perfect line-up. Has been used before. Ramires has pace and energy. We'll have them on the counter.

"Yes, Jose probably has (set up to park the bus) and it's probably a double-decker as well. He know what it's like to come here - he's been here with Real Madrid.

"He's set up a team to try to catch them on the break. I think they are going to sit deep and try to catch them on the counter-attack. I'll be surprised if he we see many goals tonight."

  14. Postpublished at 19:10 British Summer Time 22 April 2014

A few of you are unhappy with the defensive slant adopted by Chelsea tonight but there's good reason - Atletico Madrid are the only team unbeaten in the Champions League this season (eight wins, two draws) and they have only conceded five goals in 10 Champions League games this season, the best defensive tally in the competition.

On the plus side for Chelsea fans, the Blues are unbeaten against Atletico in the Champions League with the three competitive encounters between the sides producing 13 goals.

George Smith: , externalHave people forgotten than Lampard and Ramires are great attacking midfielders?

Saem Shohid: , externalJose saving his best team for the Liverpool game.

AK: , externalSolid line-up from Mourinho. Tight defence with powerhouse midfield. Up-front Torres will look to impress his old folks.

There aren't many better cities in Europe for an extended Bank Holiday trip than Madrid - and from the pictures I've seen Chelsea fans have been revelling in their luck.

Anyone got tickets for Real v Bayern tomorrow? Not a bad week of footy in the Spanish capital...

Duran Clayton: Mourinho could easily have brought Cristiano Ronaldo back, and just about any transfer target would relish playing for Manchester United under Jose. They would probably be in top spot in the league. He is the only manager capable and worthy of taking over from a manager like Ferguson.

Kierran Ramsey: Yes they would be fighting for a top four finish - he's the best manager in the world apart from Brendan Rodgers.

Matthew Rayner: , externalConsider the bus well and truly parked by Mourinho looking at that line up!

Will McCormick: , externalThis is the saddest Chelsea line-up I have ever seen in my life as a Chelsea fan.

Hanreal: , externalFour defensive midfielders in the line-up - this will he some game.
