Gary Woolton: So the team that overspent, broke the fair play rules have triumphed over a team who stuck to the rules. Yep they will be right at home in the PL.

Clumbi Dextrous: Better team didn't win for sure. But it is all about sticking the ball in the net, and Derby didn't manage to take any of their chances. Derby will learn and come back stronger next season.

Zhuo Guowei: I feel for Derby and their fans. One man up with more than half an hour to go, and lost with a late goal through awful defending...welcome back to QPR.

"The view from my desk tells you everything you need to know. They only people I can see in the Derby half of the stadium are waving QPR flags. The other half of Wembley is jam-packed. Heartbreak and ecstasy, there is no half measures at the end of this final. Derby fans will head home wondering how on earth…"

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes is out on the pitch now as he drenches players with champagne while Harry Redknapp holds aloft the play-off final trophy to a half-empty Wembley.

The Premier League clubs' released and retained list, something I imagine Redknapp pores over like the menu at an all-you-can eat restaurant, will make for much more interesting reading for the former Tottenham boss.

What odds on him having a cheeky word with nephew Frank Lampard, who is still to sign a new contract at Chelsea?

QPR defender Nedum Onuoha on BBC Radio 5 live: "I am absolutely delighted. With the amount of experience we have in this side, even in adversity we have a second game plan. To get the result feels fantastic. We must love to do things the hard way but it means twice as much now. This season has been really hard, the amount of games you play Tuesday-Saturday, Tuesday-Saturday. But there is also real quality. Derby have been one of the best sides we've played this year but haven't gone up."

Nick:, external When your first shot goes in, and you steal the win, that's Zamora.

Terence:, external Great to see Bobby Zamora get the winner, again! As a West Ham fan, fond memories of him doing the same for us in the same game!

Adam:, external Derby have had an amazing season, just wasn't their day. Now they need to be careful of doing a Sheffield United next season.

QPR players thrust the Championship play-off trophy up in the air as Pharrell Williams's 'Happy', seemingly the song of choice these days for celebrating sporting moments, blasts out. Derby boss Steve McClaren claps on with a hangdog expression on his face.

Bobby Zamora is developing into a bit of a play-off winning specialist. The striker was the scorer of the only goal in the 2005 play-off final to send West Ham into the Premier League, and he repeats that feat with QPR today. What an impact.

QPR players have swiftly swapped their red and black shirts for the more tradition blue and white hoops as they head up into the stands to receive the Championship play-off trophy.

QPR midfielder Joey Barton on BBC Radio 5 live: "We have a habit of doing it the hard way. I knew we would do it but I feel sorry for Derby, they played fantastic today and they deserved to win. That could have been us. They are young enough to bounce back and we'll make the most of it."

"Derby are upset and they know that they will never have a better chance of going up. They were up against 10 men for a long time but it was shocking defending on two occasions for the winning goal and you can't do that."

"Look at the contrast in emotions at either end of the stadium. That's what it's all about. It's about big players at both ends of the pitch. Richard Dunne and Rob Green were immense all day at the back for QPR and when it came down to it Bobby Zamora had the quality to convert that chance."

Derby captain Richard Keogh is inconsolable as he applauds the Derby fans in attendance. He is soon joined by the rest of the Derby players as they stumble off on a walk of sadness to acknowledge their supporters. Big job ahead for Steve McClaren to lift them for another crack at promotion next season.

"QPR have been absolutely outstanding defensively. An unbelievable effort. What can you say? The way they defended every ball was outstanding but the moment of quality the game was crying out for came to Bobby Zamora. A fantastic finish."

Derby players slump to their knees as their QPR counterparts embrace each other. Harry Houdini, famed for getting sides out of relegation trouble, has worked his magic to lead his side to promotion at the first attempt. Huge relief on his face as he walks out on to the pitch to shake hands with his players.

That is it! All over and it is the cruellest of cruel defeats for Derby, who dominated for so long, but when does a play-off final ever stick to the script? QPR took their chance when it came and they are back in the Premier League.

"I said it before - a mistake would be key. First Jake Buxton in the tackle with Junior Hoillet was too soft and then Richard Keogh - what is he doing? He plays it into Bobby Zamora's path who provides is the quality the game has been itching for. Can you believe it? QPR have been magnificent defensively and their one chance fell to the right man."

Wow! What drama! The blue and white half of Wembley, so quiet for so long, erupts into huge noise as QPR snatch the lead in the most dramatic fashion. Derby have had no defending to do for 45 minutes but a defensive error by Richard Keogh gifts the ball to Bobby Zamora, who expertly steers the ball beyond Lee Grant's hopeless dive. Elation for QPR, despair for Derby.
