Besiktas are almost level through a sumptuous team goal of their own. Gokhan Tore frees Jose Sosa with a finely-measured side-foot pass and the full-back's teasing cross picks out Olcay Sahan at the far post. Only Hugo Lloris's outstretched foot keeps the ball from sneaking in the corner.

Should it be 2-0 to Celtic? Probably? Dinamo keeper Eduardo messes about in possession, eventually passing straight to Kris Commons. The Celtic man could shoot from a tight angle close to goal or try to pick out a team-mate. He opts for the latter and fails badly.

Simon Tilbury:, external Get in! Super super Harry Kane!

Pieter Troffaes:, external And that's why Harry Kane deserves that 18 on his back.

Vinny Person:, external I've told Spurs supporters time and time again that Kane is a more effective striker for us than Soldado will ever be.

That goal has taken the wind out of the away section's sails. Tottenham fans are quick to point out the drop in decibel levels.

"Celtic are playing well, without really threatening Eduardo's goal since Kris Commons' strike, but that Wilson Eduardo thunderbolt off the bar shows they probably need at least another goal to even begin to think about victory."

A real let off for Celtic - and how. An absolute belter of a right-footed strike from Dinamo's Wilson Eduardo crashes against the crossbar.

Well, that was all very nice.

Nabil Bentaleb turns on a sixpence to change the whole angle of attack and feeds Harry Kane. The young striker advances to the edge of the box and lets fly before a mob of defenders can descend on him.

The ball arrows into the bottom corner, pinging in off the inside of the foot of the post.

Nabil Bentaleb's feint to shoot on the edge of the box is so convincing that it throws the man himself off balance. Groans all around.

So far, so good for Celtic. The home team are knocking the ball about nicely and look to have a decent level of control on the contest.

After Galatasaray's fans' flares and continual noise at the Emirates Stadium last night, Besiktas's supporters are not to be outdone.

They are keeping a slice of the White Hart Lane stands buzzing with some synchronised clapping and chanting. Their team have justified it early on, but Tottenham are getting off the ropes.

Harry Kane almost gets the break of the ball as a clearance thuds into his chest.

David Angus in Tottenham: When considering the Pochettino philosophy, it seems more and more surprising we let Lewis Holtby go. Great engine.

Steve in Reading: Not seeing how Everton's draw is embarrassing. Below strength team playing away to a fair side nicks a point. It happens. Good news is if we can nick a point in France and beat Lille when they come to Merseyside, it's only Krasnodar at home we need to worry about to top the group and Goodison will be rocking for that match!

Andrew in Richhill: Celtic really need a win and three important points tonight if they are to progress to the knockout stages of the Europa League. They threw away two points in Salzburg last week after holding the lead twice.

Kris Commons has certainly got Celtic off to the perfect start... can they hold on tonight? Keep your thoughts on the British teams in action tonight coming in.

Demba Ba swivels in the box and crashes a sweetly-struck shot against the angle of post and bar. Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris must have got a touch as the referee points for a corner.

The hosts are getting a working-over at the moment.

"A big physical effort from the visitors already, who are rushing the Tottenham players and making Spurs make unforced errors. Can Besiktas sustain it for the whole game? We'll have to see, but they've certainly started this match the better team.

"It's all Besiktas, and it's backs-to-the-wall stuff from the hosts."

Crossed wires down the Tottenham right as Ben Davies and Andros Townsend are both attracted to the same man, allowing Serdar Kurtulus to get in on the overlap. He can't pluck a cross out of the bag though.

"What a brilliant goal that is from Celtic and - as so often is the case - Kris Commons is the key contributor. His dummy on the edge of the box and understanding with Anthony Stokes were sublime and his finish low past the keeper unstoppable."

He is a key man for Celtic and Kris Commons marks his return from injury with a lovely goal.

The former Derby man steps over Emilio Izaguirre's ball to allow it to run to Anthony Stokes, darts into space and takes the return pass before slotting low past the advancing Eduardo.

"That should have been the first goal, a gilt-edged opportunity for Besiktas. How many chances does Vlad Chiriches gift to his opponents? Two or three times a game he does it, and that was absolutely catastrophic. Spurs should be behind."
