Samuel Eto'o has dropped back into a withdrawn role since the arrival of Romelu Lukaku on the pitch. Lukaku is burning up some of his youthful energy chasing down defenders like an eager labrador.

Everton are still searching for a toehold.

Alex: Boca Juniors for a bit of el super Classico then back to Arsenal for a few more north London derbies.

Bryn: Having grown up watching Football Italia on Channel 4, it'd have to be a few years with AC Milan before returning triumphantly to Woking.

John Stones is looking a little like the player that Phil Jones promised to be two seasons ago. After an assured Merseyside derby, the youngster is sticking up for himself under pressure from Ari, leaving the powerful Brazilian flat with a hefty, but fair, challenge.

Everton are boxed back in their penalty area straight from the restart. They survive an early corner, but there weren't any visiting players commanding the situation.

I'm coming to this late, but have the answer to end this debate.

One minute in boiling water + six minutes sitting in the water with no heat underneath = egg perfection.

    Kitchen maths.

From Andy: I can't be the only one awaiting an egg update from your very own Tom Rostance after last night's 180 second debate.

Regular readers such as Andy may have spotted Tom Rostance's ill-informed comment last night [21:30] that he could 'boil an egg in three minutes' as he pondered if Liverpool could score in the same amount of time. It triggered somewhat of a culinary debate among you all, with most people rightly mocking him for being a cretin of the kitchen, with the odd kind soul offering words of support.

True to his word Rostance took to the saucepans back at the ranch and is happy to confirm that a three-minute egg is far from optimum. Some would say sloppy, underdone and downright rank. Much like Liverpool's display in Basel…

Micah Richards makes his second start in a week for Fiorentina at Dinamo Minsk. That match kicks off at 18:00 BST. The Manchester City defender, who is on a season-long loan at the Florence club, made his first start in the 1-1 draw at Torino.

That photo kinds of sums up Micah Richards' career so far doesn't it? Out of position, but his athleticism getting him out of trouble. And you still can't shake the sense that a horrible mishap is just round the corner.

Tough place to go? Long trip? Something wrong with the pitch surface?

Even the mild-mannered Roberto Martinez might be ticking some of the 'post-Eastern-Europe-defeat bingo boxes tonight.

His side have walked into a bit of an elephant trap here. Krasnodar have been full of energy and enterprise and the visitors have struggled to make inroads.

Tim Howard has a thousand-yard stare on and his defenders are sensibly avoiding his eye.

A nothing-much lob forward from Odil Ahmedov is turned into a defence-splitter as Phil Jagielka miscues a hooked clearance, taking John Stones out of the game and diverting the ball into Ari's path.

The Brazilian has time to compose himself and wait for the bounce before dispatching a finish past Howard.

Ouch. Christian Atsu and Vitali Kaleshin bash heads as they contest an aerial ball and you could almost see the cartoon birdies floating above the Krasnodar midfielder as he scraped together his senses.

Atsu seems to be made of tougher stuff.

Krasnodar earned a 1-1 draw away to Lille in their opening group game. What is par for this game for Everton then? Would Roberto Martinez's side be happy with a draw? Should they be?

Tim Howard claims a cross on the bounce from Artur Jedrzejczyk's flick-on. Just over five minutes left of the first half.
