Who have been the most entertaining team of the Premier League era?

Rian Hoskins:, external The Manchester City team of last season was pretty fabulous to watch. They scored 102 league goals on their way to the title

    Steve:, external United's 93-94 team.

Paul Thompson:, external Kevin Keegan's Newcastle team of the 1990s. Very unlucky not to win the league. A bit different to the Toon team this season!

  2. The missing piece?published at 15:41 British Summer Time 14 September 2014

Few would have guessed at the start of the summer that Radamel Falcao would be lining up for Manchester United this afternoon.

The Colombia striker suddenly became available on deadline day and United snapped Monaco's hands off to take him on loan.

Quite where everyone fits into this United jigsaw remains to be seen, but what does not is that the number nine is gold in front of goal.

Since 2009-10, Falcao has scored 104 goals in 139 league appearances for Porto, Atletico Madrid and Monaco combined. Deadly.

He's only on the bench today - but his time will come.

Plenty of unfamiliar faces for the Old Trafford residents to get used to during the warm-up, from the Seattle grunge look of Daley Blind, odd-boot wearing Radamel Falcao and Marcos Rojo, who seems to have a Crystal maze tattoo on his neck.

Queens Park Rangers have not kept a clean sheet against Manchester United since September 1992, when they drew 0-0 at Old Trafford in the first ever Premier League meeting, and Harry Redknapp is yet to pick up a point at Old Trafford in 14 previous visits.

    Is now his time?

Manchester United v Everton April 2014

Much has changed at Old Trafford in the five months since David Moyes departed the scene.

His final game in charge was a 2-0 defeat at Everton in April, and just four of his XI on that day start this afternoon.

Queens Park Rangers defender Rio Ferdinand on Football Focus

"Pre-season I was really excited for Man United. They looked really fit, really decisive and the players looked like they had a good understanding of the system. It was almost a complete reversal once the season started.

"But I think they'll get it right. The manager who is there now gets things right and I have every confidence he will bring good times back to Manchester United, it is just a question of how long.

"I'm sure they will be looking to start well after the international break but let's hope it takes a bit longer with that. A clean sheet for us at Old Trafford would be nice."

Ferdinand, 35, made 455 appearances for Manchester United between 2002 and 2014.

Football writer Amy Lawrence: "Daley Blind is such a versatile player, this step up for him from Ajax is interesting. After having had a hard time for some of his early career he now looks like a player who dominates. To dominate from day one in the Premier League would be fascinating."

Rio Ferdinand gets a huge ovation from the Old Trafford faithful as he leads QPR out to warm up, the former United stalwart may face a testing afternoon today.

Surely this new-look Manchester United team have too much firepower for QPR - don't they?

White Lion Radio:, external Oh dear that Man Utd line-up looks grim, especially at the back. Staggered Falcao is on the bench, not confident at all!

Wale Ibraheem:, external LVG is mature enough to realize that this 'three at the back' formation isn't working. Now United can begin winning matches.

Atticus Montreal:, external QPR at Old Trafford - and all the excitement of a relegation six-pointer. Who would have thought!

BBC Sport's Simon Stone at Old Trafford: "So, just the two debuts in Man Utd's starting line-up; Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo. That gives the hosts a more solid look, with Angel Di Maria - on his first Old Trafford appearance - and another summer signing, Ander Herrera, providing the midfield guile.

"With Radamel Falcao unlikely to be spending too much time on the bench, what an important game this is for Juan Mata.

"He might have cost a club record £37.1m in January but it is Mata whose place appears most at risk from United's plunge into the transfer market.

"With no Europe or Capital One Cup on offer, how many chances will the former Chelsea man get to stake a claim for a regular place in Louis van Gaal's team?"

There hasn't been a summer of change like it for 20-odd years at Old Trafford.

David Moyes' gritty, dour season in charge tanked to such an extent that those in charge at the Theatre of Dreams had no choice but to schedule a huge reboot, with experienced hitmaker Louis van Gaal ushered into the director's seat and a galaxy of leading men signed up to head the billing.

Out have gone Moyes, Tom Cleverley, Wilfried Zaha, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra, Alex Buttner, Nani, Javier Hernandez, Rio Ferdinand, Bebe, Shinji Kagawa and Danny Welbeck.

In have come Van Gaal, Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, Angel Di Maria, Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao. The Premier League version of the Avengers.

Will they get enough screen time? Can an ensemble cast ever work at the highest level?

We are set to find out.

Manchester United have gone all Hollywood.

In the last 10 years the big film studios have countered a poor showing from one of their big franchises by simply 'rebooting' it and forgetting the previous film ever existed.

The last Superman film was a dud? Reboot it. Can't finish a script for Spiderman IV? Reboot it. Someone made a horrible job of the Incredible Hulk? Reboot it.

As long as you throw enough money and big names at a project, it will bounce back at the box office.

    Manchester United hope so.

David Moyes had a terrible season? Reboot it.

"Forest might have had more possession and territory but they didn't make the Derby goalkeeper work enough. They remain unbeaten. Steve McClaren will be happy his team came back into it and managed to hold on with 10 men.

"From a neutral perspective it was breathtaking, end to end stuff."
