Anthony Vaz:, external Back to four at the back. A welcome return.

Sahil Oberoi:, external Compare this starting XI and bench to the previous home game v Swansea. Unreal.

Manchester United's loanee striker Radamel Falcao has tweeted, external to followers in his native Colombia, reminding them not to miss what should be his debut at Old Trafford this afternoon.

So far so good, except the 28-year-old appears to be slightly confused about who he might be facing today.

"Qeens Park Rogers" anyone? Blame the jet-leg.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal on Sky Sports: "We will play with four at the back today, in midfield we play with four and Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney up front.

"I don't have five defenders fit so it was easier for me to decide the formation. Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are injured so I have to use the players I have available.

"Falcao has come from Colombia and has jetlag and he has to adapt to the culture and all the new players so I don't think it was right to start with him today."

Eight minutes extra to find a winner and Stuart Pearce is not going subtle.

"The whistle had gone but still Jake Buxton goes and throws himself into a challenge recklessly. He did not give the referee any option. We are getting a hell of a finish to this game. It is absolute bedlam here at the minute, both managers are down in the technical area giving instructions."

"Well kudos to Steve McClaren, he made two positive substitutions after the Forest goal. The delivery on the free-kick was spot on, the initial header comes back out and Leon Best was on hand to scratch it in. That has changed things completely now."

Derby draw level and they probably just about deserve.

Richard Keogh's thumping header against the bar from Craig Forsyth's rebounds into a melee of legs and limbs, with Ryan Shotton sweeping home from on the deck.

"QPR are here. And with them Rio Ferdinand, who was afforded a warm welcome as fans got the briefest glimpse of the visitors exiting the team bus.

"And here are United. There were a few grumbles at the parking that obscured their players from view to the majority of the thousand or so awaiting their arrival. Largely though, the reception was positive.

"At a rough guess, there are twice as many Di Maria shirts as Falcao. But Wayne Rooney is popular, as is Robin van Persie."

Derby have reacted to falling behind by introducing Liverpool loanee Jordan Ibe and former Atletico Madrid youngster Ivan Calero in place of Craig Bryson and John Eustace.

Here are a selection of your comments in response to the discussion of Alan Pardew's position as manager of Newcastle United held on MOTD 2 Extra earlier today.

Scott Speed:, external The manager's job is to get the best out of the group of players he has at his disposal and it's hard to argue in Alan Pardew's favour right now. I personally felt the effort given by our players yesterday is a sad indictment of the way Pardew has the squad motivated or not as it appears. His days are numbered and I for one would welcome a change in fortunes. That only seems to be attainable through an injection of new management.

Marc Thornton:, external Pardew has to go. Over the last two years I have seen some of the most atrocious football at St James' Park at times, including two hammerings off Sunderland. Football has changed since the Kevin Keegan era so I wouldn't expect a new saviour to come in and turn us into Barcelona but I'm quite sure change is needed.

Chris Pugh:, external If you're going to sell your best players and not replace them, you're always gonna wind up in trouble... Ashley should think of that before sacking a gaffer.

"Britt Assombalonga turned in the box and slammed a shot into the bottom corner. He took it brilliantly. We did say the game was going to get stretched, and that it would be interesting to see which team who reacted best after the break we had. Obviously it has been Nottingham Forest.

"Derby had been coasting for me and now they have to find an equaliser. That could benefit Forest, they could attack on the break."

  17. GOALpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 14 September 2014

The Forest fans erupt. They have been fighting the tide of Derby attacks since the break, but a lovely spin and strike from Britt Assombalonga from 15 yards sets the place rocking.

Five in six from the record signing now.

Play is held up at the City Ground while the stewards make a meal of removing a Derby pitch invader from the playing surface.

Sadly neither Steve McClaren or Stuart Pearce is up for dishing out a memorial Clougie-style "ear-clipping".

BBC Sport's Simon Stone is reporting from Old Trafford, where Manchester United take on Queens Park Rangers this afternoon.

"Fifty years ago, Sir Bobby Charlton was the United superstar. Now Charlton is consigned to a watching brief in his role as a football club director. But even he is here nice and early for what United hope will be the start of something special."

As well as three points, there is some silverware to be won by Forest or Derby today.

The Brian Clough Trophy was introduced in 2007 and is played for at every derby between the two clubs.

The Cup itself is more than 100 years old. Not a quick purchase down the key-cutters.
