    Liverpool seem almost resigned to the result as they hit long balls into the West ham half. Raheem Sterling does win a free-kick, though, which Steven Gerrard swings in, but the ball is headed away.

    Upton Park is in fine voice as the game enters the first of four minutes of stoppage time. The Hammers are on course for their first home win of the season, and it will be a deserved victory too. This has been a good display by Sam Allardyce's side.

    Liverpool's attempts to push forward in search of an equaliser was always going to leave them a little exposed at the back, and so it proves as Stewart Downing threads a pass for Morgan Amalfitano to run on to and the substitute pokes the ball into the far corner. Game over.

    Plenty of claret and blue back defending as Liverpool attempt to prise open the West Ham defence. They are having no joy, though, a frustration highlighted by Martin Skrtel as he has a go from distance, but his shot is wide.

    Liverpool have definitely improved with Adam Lallana in the side and he slides a pass to Alberto Moreno on the left side of the West Ham area, and the wing-back fizzes a teasing ball across the face of goal but no Liverpool player can make the decisive touch and West Ham clear.
