He was denied moments ago but no stopping Robin van Persie this time. Richie de Laet is the guilty man, robbed of the ball by Radamel Falcao who sprints up the left wing and then picks out Van Persie with a cracking cross. It arcs away from Kasper Schmeichel and finds the Dutchman free at the far post. His header is powerful, and deflects in off the head of Liam Moore.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:41 British Summer Time 21 September 2014

First chance of the day and it comes for Manchester United. Angel Di Maria hits top speed and burns away from two Leicester midfielders before picking out the run of Robin van Persie. The Dutchman is running away from goal and has to take it first time, but Kasper Schmeichel is on him in a flash to make the smothering stop. Fine save, his dad will be pleased.

The Foxes have been excellent so far. Playing at a real high tempo, shutting United down right up the pitch and looking dangerous when they do get on the ball to boot. Radamel Falcao has hardly touched it up top for United.

Andrew, Newcastle: As a Manchester City fan today is a feast of football. For starters I would like to go for a Leicester win against Man United and for the main course, a Man City victory over Chelsea, with a Sergio Aguero goal on the side. Oh, and can I have that without the customary Diego Costa goals? Much obliged.

A bad touch does for another chance as Leicester break quickly, Jamie Vardy and Dave Nugent have bags of pace and they aren't afraid to use it, working the ball down the right before the Nuge picks out Leo Ulloa on the left of the box. One touch to set and then bang, but the touch is not great and Jonny Evans is able to clear.

    Former England manager Graham Taylor
BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

"In the opening minutes neither side has looked to control the game, they have both looked to attack. In that sense they have to be accurate and make sure the ball does reach the areas they want to. It has been quite a bright opening."

Great ball! West Brom continue their strong opening as Saido Berahino is released by a brilliant pass from Craig Gardner He's in behind the defence but takes a slack first touch and then fires wide under pressure

At the other end Spurs' first attack is stemmed by good sweeping from Albion keeper Ben Foster.

Quite the coup for Leicester to sign Esetban Cambiasso. He's 34 now, and played for Inter for 10 years prior to his move to the east midlands this summer. He's at the heart of Leicester's bright start though, a quick free-kick leading to Leo Ulloa going close at the back stick.

Demola Oke:, external Makes sense leaving Juan Mata out. He's got some confidence, his absence won't hit him. RvP needs confidence, his absence would be bad.

James Swift:, external Must be the highlight of Esteban Cambiasso's career starting along side Dean Hammond. Stuff of dreams.

  11. CLOSE!published at 13:32 British Summer Time 21 September 2014

West Brom, in need of a result today, make a very good start. James Morrison wins and then takes a corner, and it's headed over the top by centre-back Craig Dawson. Always over, but a good connection.

Stuart Mitchell:, external Louis van Gaal doesn't strike me as the sentimental type. Robin van Persie needs a performance today or else he could be losing his place to Juan Mata long term.

I got in trouble with some Leicester fans last season for calling the horn that greets the sides at the King Power a bugle. It's not a bugle, got it? Stop thinking about bugles.

Anyway, here they are. Handshakes all round, Premier League anthems - it's all a long way from League One.

Here we go then - Wayne Rooney lines up his new team-mates in the tunnel, he's a very vocal captain. Daley Blind and Ander Herrera also having plenty of chat. Opposite, Foxes captain Wes Morgan says nothing. Poker face.

Josh Hood:, external Can't see why people are complaining Juan Mata has been dropped, LvG needs to try different systems and that's what he's doing today.

James Keeling:, external Rooney, Van Persie, Falcao and Di Maria v Wes Morgan! Only one winner today... YOU'LL NEVER BEAT WES MORGAN!

Elliot Edwards:, external WBA are a shambles at the moment... but being a fan, I am hoping for at least a draw. Berahino to score.

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson, speaking on Sky Sports about Esteban Cambiasso: "Firstly, he's here to play. With a CV which he has, it's not a case of him coming in as a bums-on-seat signing. His contribution, on and off the field, has been nothing but positive. Last week (against Stoke), his contribution, along with the rest of the team, was quite significant.

"We are well aware that we probably wouldn't be able to sign someone like him if he wasn't towards the end of his career. Hopefully he'll play his part in what will be a positive performance from us, but we have to play at our best and make sure we give Man United a difficult afternoon."
