"More sparring at the start of the second half and no clear-cut chances. Arsenal have kept the lid on the explosive Diego Costa so far - but quite a few defences have thought that this season only to be punished in an instant.
"Interesting that Costa has been involved in quite a bit of dialogue with Jose Mourinho, seemingly around what the manager sees as the striker's reluctance to chase back. Be a good verbal battle that one - but with only one winner you suspect."

"It's only in this last six or seven minutes you feel Southampton have suddenly decided to give it a go. I just think they have been a little bit too slow on the uptake today."

"Fantastic play down the left-hand side by Southampton (15:48), finally getting in behind the Tottenham defence. Sadio Mane is three yards out, but has managed to miss by six."
I think I can just about make out a blade of grass which Cesc Fabregas has not covered. It's box to box in a nutshell, isn't it?
We're hurtling towards the final five minutes at White Hart Lane, where Sadio Mane has missed a glorious chance to level for the Saints - bundling the ball wide after the chance had been put on a plate by a superb cross from the left.
Jack Wilshere is doing his best to inject some momentum into the Arsenal performance, but he is continually losing possession by running down blind alleys, or just through a poor touch.
Elly Reilly:, external Andre Schurrle and Diego Costa not on their A-game today but Chelsea still looking dangerous every time we go forward.
Isaac Wolofar:, external Eden Hazard has custody of the missing RIGHT LEG of Lionel Messi. Mesmerizing.
Dax Fullbrook:, external Someone teach Erik Lamela that he doesn't need to be Diego Maradona. Just bury it!
Ali, Edinburgh: The problem with being able to substitute concussed players without it actually costing a substitution (see 15:33) is that concussion is not always immediately apparent. Given that in certain cases a quick and accurate diagnosis doesn't present itself, how long before somebody feigns concussion in order to gain a free substitution? I know it sounds a little far-fetched, but so would rugby's 'Bloodgate' scandal before the event.
Now it's Arsenal who want a penalty when Cesc Fabregas dives in front of Jack Wilshere's rasping shot - deflecting it for a corner with his hands up. I think the Gunners can feel a little aggrieved there...
Sam, London: If Younes Kaboul's shoulder to shoulder is a foul and a card, how was that not a penalty?

"That was a big call for the referee (15:40). I think it's just the body strength of Ryan Bertrand that has knocked Emmanuel Adebayor off the ball."
Nothing Arsenal try is coming off - Jack Wilshere slipping a pass through for Mesut Ozil, but Branislav Ivanovic reads it and cuts out the danger.
Southampton are pressing Spurs back but are struggling to create too many clear-cut chances to equalise. At the other end, Spurs have a penalty appeal turned down when Emmanuel Adebayor goes down under Ryan Bertrand's challenge after being played in by Erik Lamela. The referee probably got that one right - the Togo striker went to ground a little easily.
Arsenal nearly score an own goal when Eden Hazard gets the run on Calum Chambers, who is on a booking, and jinks into the penalty area before driving a cross into the box which Mathieu Flamini almost slices past his own keeper.
Sam Allardyce reacts to last week's 2-1 defeat at Manchester United by making two changes to his West Ham starting line-up. Full-back Carl Jenkinson, on loan from Arsenal, returns along with Mauro Zarate. Out go Guy Demel and Diego Poyet.
West Ham XI: Adrian, Jenkinson, Tomkins, Reid, Cresswell, Song, Amalfitano, Downing, Zarate, Sakho, Valencia.
Bottom club QPR make three changes to the side that lost 2-1 at Southampton last time out. Nedum Onuoha, Karl Henry and Junior Hoilett start in place of Mauricio Isla, Matt Phillips and Eduardo Vargas.
QPR XI: Green, Onuoha, Ferdinand, Caulker, Traore, Sandro, Henry, Fer, Hoilett, Kranjcar, Austin.

"It's only 1-0, but there would have to be an extraordinary turnaround for Arsenal to get anything out of this. There seems to be no danger at all for Chelsea."
Nicolas Cage:, external Branislav Ivanovic is fantastic, just gets his head down and does his job to a high standard. One of the most crucial players for Chelsea.
Oliver Johnson:, external Surely footballers independently diagnosed as concussed should have to leave the field, but it shouldn't cost a substitution?
Jack Wilshere tries to get Arsenal moving as he glides forward, playing a one-two with Danny Welbeck, before running straight into Branislav Ivanovic. Chelsea have the Gunners where they want them.
I'll be honest, I was a little surprised when Spurs made Younes Kaboul captain, but the centre-half has been superb today. The armband seems to be bringing out the best in him.
