Andrew Robertson, who was so impressive for Scotland against England on Tuesday, is already getting forward for Hull from left back.

Ahmed Elmohamady might have just got away with one there though. The Egyptian appeared to allow a nothing ball to glance off his hand as he ushered it back towards Allan McGregor. Referee Chris Pawson failed to spot it though.

Keith in Chester: It's been forgotten that Liverpool are only five points off fourth place despite all their troubles. Surely if they are in crisis then so are Arsenal Everton and Spurs?

Rob in Birmingham: If Kenny Daglish was still in charge Liverpool's league position would be far better now and he would have had the nous to take the title last year from their winning position? He signed Suarez after all. Still a big mistake letting him go for me. How many other managers are there around who have won the league?

James in London: I don't think anyone will deny Liverpool overachieved last season. This meant Rodgers created a rod for his own back. When he came in two seasons ago, we all said he needs time. The fact that we had a great, perhaps lucky season last year, does not change that fact.

While Liverpool scrape their sorry selves back onto the team bus at Selhurst Park, Mauricio Pochettino might be glad for someone else to take the tabloid heat.

His side have already racked up four league defeats already at White Hart Lane, and with Emmanuel Adebayor having a bite back at the home fans, now might be a good time for a trip to Hull.

England were pushing for a goal before the break but Germany striker Celia Sasic has made it 3-0 on the stroke of half-time with a header.

Gary Lansley:, external Quite incredible the amount of 'fans' giving Steven Gerrard grief. Show some respect that guy has done so much for your club.

Aidan Williams:, external Just seen someone calling for Steven Gerrard to be sacked. Calm down children

Jack Reed:, external Liverpool need to pack up shop and sell the trash. Martin Skrtel, Glen Johnson, Dejan Lovren, Simon Mignolet, Rickie Lambert, Mario Balotelli, Lucas etc

A shattered-looking Brendan Rodgers is just fronting up to the television camera. Very downbeat as you would expect.

    BBC Sport chief football writer

"Worrying sign for Liverpool was how they offered little or nothing after Crystal Palace equalised. As if the goal shattered them mentally."

Mark in Wirral: Millions wasted! Brendan Rodgers should be sacked along with Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson. Disgraceful! Wake up Liverpool owners and act before its to late.

David in Swindon: Time to move Gerrard into a similar role as Ryan Giggs at Manchester United. He'd be a great motivator and good support for Rodgers as a coach.

Nick in London: Liverpool are not in meltdown. Things aren't going for them right now. they didn't deserve to lose at Palace, on an unplayable pitch.

What Brendan Rodgers doesn't need is a big-name charismatic manager making noises about moving to the Premier League.

    What is that Jurgen?

"I think England is the only country I think where I should work, next to Germany because it's the only country I know the language a little bit and I need the language for my work," said Borussia Dortmund's Mr Klopp to BT Sport this week. , external

"If somebody will call me, then we will talk about it."

Brendan better hope that John W Henry doesn't subscribe.

Stu Thomas:, external All the problems with Brendan Rodgers seen by Swans fans. Odd selections, players out of position, no plan B. Time's up I think.

Alistair Lowe:, external Sad reality is, I didn't expect anything today. Liverpool and Brendan are in a mess and the transfer committee a laughing stock.

Paul Mulligan:, external Massive parallels between Liverpool and Spurs - two irreplaceable players sold in Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez. Rebuilding takes time

Crystal Palace and DR Congo winger Yannick Bolasie on Sky Sports: It has been one of the best weeks of my life. Qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations, scoring two goals in that, and setting one up today. I did well against Liverpool last year and had a good feeling today."

Hal in Edinburgh: Brendan Rodgers' tactical set up was perfect with someone as dynamic as Luis Suarez playing that open centre forward role. He's gone now, not been replaced and now we see how weak Liverpool are as a squad despite incredible funds recently. Brendan's transfer policy is too poor at this point to be safe in his job.

Scott in Warrington: Liverpool need to sign a big player to bring the mojo back. Rodgers won't get the support of the board based on their current position. It's a vicious cycle. I can't see why any iconic players would want to sign for Liverpool, either. I bet Rickie Lambert is thinking if he made a mistake leaving Southampton.

Matt: Liverpool bought the polar opposite of Suarez in Mario Balotelli and Lambert. They'd have been better off bringing Carlos Tevez in for a season.

    Premier League table

Liverpool finished two points above Chelsea last season. They trail the Blues by 18 points after a third of this.

They have now lost their last three league games and are closer to the relegation zone than the Champions League places.

    BBC Radio London 94.9

Former QPR striker Bradley Allen: "Neil Warnock will be proud of every single one of his players with the desire they showed. It's given them a huge amount of belief that they can stay in this division. There's no arguments, Palace were completely deserved winners. That they came from behind, when Liverpool were on top and in control, shows the character they have."

    Match stats

Last season's 3-3 draw came as a bit of a smash-and-grab from Palace. This result feels more like just desserts for a side that showed greater attacking threat and held Liverpool at bay with ease after the second minute.
