  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

So close to the opener for QPR. Bobby Zamora robs a hesitant Jonny Evans and slips the ball through to Charlie Austin. The striker instinctively volleys towards goal but David de Gea is alert enough to parry away.

Chelsea's passing has been sublime at times in this game and a beautiful move sees them carve open the Swansea defence to allow Diego Costa to score his side's second. One-touch passing from Cesc Fabregas, Willian and Oscar ends with Costa being put through and, of course, the striker makes no mistake.

  3. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

Philippe Countinho slips, which inadvertently puts Alberto Moreno through. He makes no mistake with a left-footed finish from 15 yards but the linesman's flag was up for offside. A let-off for Villa.

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Loftus Road

"If Radamel Falcao is looking for goals to convince Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal of his long-term worth, he should have added on to his tally there. He had plenty of time and space from Juan Mata's cross but shot straight at QPR keeper Robert Green. The Colombian, however, has been industrious as United carry the greater threat. QPR a little tentative, perhaps understandable from a struggling team."

Chelsea have weathered that spell of Swansea pressure and are back on the hunt for a second goal, passing the ball around confidently before pouncing the moment they have an opening. If Willian, who lashes over when well placed, had his shooting boots on, the Blues would be out of sight.

"For the first goal, Julian Speroni came and flapped and got nowhere near it. It was a poor corner actually, too deep. But Mee snuck round the far post and just had to let it hit his head. And Alan Pardew will be furious with the defending.

"For the second, the ball looked like it was out of play in the first instance. And if it was, Pardew will be furious."

Radamel Falcao is back in the United team and was nearly back in the goals there. Juan Mata found the Colombian with a wonderful pass but Rob Green produced a fine initial save before smothering the striker's second attempt out for a corner.

Controversy over this one. Scott Arfield robs Joel Ward on the touchline before slipping Danny Ings through on goal. The striker keeps his calm to slot the ball home from the edge of the penalty area. Palace are adamant the ball had gone out before Arfield got it and they may well have a point. Burnley won't care.

Even stuff at Villa Park. Both sides struggling to create much with the play mostly in the middle third.

Jermain Defoe will have his work cut out if he is to keep his incredible record of scoring on his debut for every club he has played for going today. The Sunderland striker is being well marshalled by Jan Vertonghen and Eric Dier, with Defoe's only contribution so far being a weak penalty appeal.

The perfect start for Burnley as Kieran Trippier's corner from the left is missed by Palace's defence, including a flapping Julian Speroni, and Ben Mee is on hand to head home his first Clarets goal. Awful defending.

Scrappy start at Loftus Road, watched by England boss Roy Hodgson. Maybe watching QPR striker Charlie Austin? At the other Michael Carrick has a 30-yard shot straight at goalkeeper Robert Green.

Swansea are swarming all over the Chelsea defence as they look to respond to Oscar's opener and the pressure almost pays off when a ball into the box finds Wayne Routledge, who tries to curl an effort into the net but the shot is blocked and the Blues clear.

Today is the first time all season, in all competitions, that Ryan Shawcross hasn't started for Stoke. He misses out through injury but so far Stoke are not missing their captain at the back. The away side are bossing possession, but we are yet to see a chance of note from either side.

"Danny Ings is a great goalscorer for Burnley, and they will surely try to hang onto him at least until the end of the season."

Cagey start at Turf Moor. Both teams looking to hit their front men early but neither side has managed to fashion a chance yet.

Ambitious from Bobby Zamora - and very, very wide. The home striker is gifted the ball by Juan Mata at the halfway line but his attempted volley bounces a few times before nearly hitting the corner flag. Worth a go I guess...

    Former Wales striker John Hartson
BBC Radio 5 live at Liberty Stadium

"A mistake from Gylfi Sigurdsson in the middle of the park, Oscar picks up the lose ball and smashes a right-foot finish into the bottom corner. A wonderful strike and what a great start for Chelsea. Sigurdsson isn't used to playing in central midfield, where he is today, and his loose pass came back to Oscar off Tom Carroll."

"So unlucky for Sunderland. The deflection has cut them to shreds, deflating the feelgood factor of new signing Jermain Defoe at the club."

All the pre-match focus may have been on Jermain Defoe but it is a defender who claims the limelight early on at White Hart Lane. A half-hearted clearance falls straight to Jan Vertonghen, whose shot takes a wicked deflection off John O'Shea and lands in the back of the net.
