Perhaps our favourite story of the morning, though, is in the Times, flagged up on the front page of its sports pull-out beside a photo of a muscular Andy Murray.

QPR's Dutch midfielder Leroy Fer has revealed that he didn't invite Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal - his former national team coach - to his wedding during the summer. Fer seems to have had a concern that the imposing Van Gaal might have tried to take over the ceremony.

"He would stand at the front of the church," Fer said, "[saying] do you want to marry him? Do you want to marry her?"

The Daily Express has another West London-based manager on its back page, with QPR boss Harry Redknapp claiming that a club mole is trying to get him the sack. "I'm not silly, I'm very streetwise," he said. "Someone has tried to cause me a problem. I wasn't born yesterday."

In any case, if Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is to be believed, Swansea may get a refereeing decision or two in their favour this afternoon.

Mourinho, who is contesting a charge imposed after he claimed there was a "campaign" to influence referees' decisions against his side, spent much of his pre-match press conference grumbling about his team's treatment at the hands of match officials.

"With Chelsea and with me the reactions are different," said Mourinho.

As any physics expert will tell you, Isaac Newton's third law of motion is this: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. And so as one Premier League club welcome a striker, another is saying goodbye to a forward. Swansea sold Wilfried Bony to reigning champions Manchester City for £28m during the week. Today, Garry Monk's side host Chelsea. What chance a home win in those circumstances?

"It's a challenge for my players and it's a challenge for myself to really try to put on a performance and hopefully we can warrant a good result," Monk said. Well, they have beaten Manchester United away this season.
