Ronald Koeman will be hoping his side can catch Newcastle players with their minds on an impending sunshine break.

The North East club are jetting out to Dubai tomorrow, and heading off for warmer climes often raises a few eyebrows, especially if players and staff get snapped out and about, external in bars during the 'training break'.

Newcastle caretaker boss John Carver is adamant it will be all work and very little play, though, saying: "We've got a hurricane out there to deal with and it's difficult to do good quality stuff with the wind howling. We've had to work indoors because it's just unbearable."

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew: "What a performance to come back. I don't care who you are playing against. It was an amazing game and I thought we deserved it. Jason Puncheon was the best player on the pitch today by a country mile.

"It's a great win for us that gives us great momentum. These players needed a bit of a lift and belief. I know these players and I know how they click so it's been easy for me to settle. The application can't be faulted in the three matches that I've had so far."

Just look at the impact Alan Pardew has had. Two games, two wins and Crystal Palace are not only out of the relegation zone - where they were when he arrived - but up to 12th. Defeats for QPR and Leicester leave them in relegation trouble.

Ipswich Town moved into second-place with a 3-1 win over Millwall that also heaped more pressure on Lions manager Ian Holloway. After a run of just one win in 13 games in all competitions Holloway received a vote of confidence from chairman John Berylson before kick-off. It did little to boost the home side as a Noel Hunt brace put the Tractor Boys 2-0 up after 14 minutes and Jonathan Parr added the third on 77 minutes.

Bournemouth remain top by a single point after recovering from a slow start to beat Rotherham 2-0 - Tommy Elphick and Callum Wilson got the goals.

New Charlton Athletic manager Guy Luzon was unable to take charge for today's game against Watford due to work permit delays but he won't like what he saw at Vicarage Road as Odion Ighalo bagged a brace for the hosts in a 5-0 romp.

This is how the top of the Premier League looks after today's 15:00 GMT games. Chelsea will have a five-point lead, at least until tomorrow when Manchester City play Arsenal.

Manchester United's 2-0 win at QPR means they are up to third while Liverpool's 2-0 win against Aston Villa means they move above West Ham, for tonight at least.

Phil: Great Chelsea performance today, goal difference may be important at the end of the season so every goal is vital.

Ben Kehoe: Might just start watching only the last five minutes of Spurs games. Seems to be Christian Eriksen's specialty.

"A great performance from Chelsea. Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Nemanja Matic especially, were exceptional. They were far superior to Swansea. Disappointing for Garry Monk, a couple of new players in there didn't do a lot,. Nelson Oliveira did not threaten the Chelsea goal whatsoever, and 5-0 to Chelsea probably flatters Swansea, because it could have been six or seven if we are honest. They will take some catching."

Stavros Makrozachopo: Lambert shouldn't get the sack. He should resign - that's the honest thing to do.

Andy Donley: Newcastle fans will live to regret hounding out Alan Pardew, one of the best English managers around.

Y2Craig: Surely if Pardew can do no wrong (16:44) his side wouldn't have fallen 2-0 behind...

Narek, Bromley: Well Radamel Falcao, you could have had three today! What a shame, goodbye! Had Wayne Rooney been playing instead, he would have scored all three!

Joss, Coventry: Personally I think Falcao is suffering from a lack of confidence which is needed for some world class players, you need the backing of your manager and the fans. Just look at Fernando Torres' recent revival for Atletico. Support and the goals will flow.

    Former Wales striker John Hartson
BBC Radio 5 live at Liberty Stadium

"In the second half Chelsea have not been as blistering as they were in the first but then again how could they have been? What they have done is tracked back and shown real commitment and desire to keep a clean sheet. If they do end up finishing above Manchester City, that is what will see them to the title this season."

Ipswich's Jonathan Parr appears to have scotched any hope of an unlikely come back for under fire Millwall manager Ian Holloway, who has just one win in the last 13 games in all competitions, restoring a two-goal cushion to make it 3-1 at the New Den.

As it stands, the Tractor Boys will move into second place, just one point behind leaders Bournemouth, who are winning 2-0 at Rotherham.
