Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will have expected Sheffield United to have a go, but he won't be happy with what he has seen from his side in this game so far. Their only shot on target was the earlier Eric Dier header, but otherwise they have done next to nothing in the final third.

A nervy Ben Davies squanders possession on the edge of his own area and Sheffield United almost make him pay as Stefan Scougall picks up the ball, opens up space for himself but drives a shot narrowly wide.

Just before the half-time break Joao Teixeira adds another for Brighton, who are now 3-1 up at home to Ipswich, and there's been another goal at Craven Cottage too. This time it's not Ross McCormack. Nottingham Forest have got one back against Fulham, whose lead is cut to 3-1. Henri Lansbury with the goal.

Harry Kane has been stranded out on the left for much of this half and it has weakened his attacking threat. He decides enough is enough and cuts into the middle but shoots from distance and Bob Harris gets the block in.

Emmanuel Adebayor will want to win over the boo boys tonight, but he won't with shots like this. In fairness, his approach play was great as he timed his run to perfection to bring a long ball under control, but gets his shot horribly wrong, lashing over with just Blades keeper Mark Howard to beat.

The first leg of the Copa del Rey tie between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid kicks off at 21:00 GMT. No shortage of stellar names...

Another goal at the Amex, where Brighton have re-taken the lead at home to title hopefuls Ipswich. Joao Teixeira beats three players before firing home, although there may have been a slight deflection on the shot. Approaching half-time there, and at Craven Cottage, where Fulham lead Nottingham Forest 3-0 - Ross McCormack with all of the goals.

Jamal Campbell-Ryce has the measure of Ben Davies and he knows it. He tries to muscle his way past the Tottenham left-back, who has to get a foot in and concede a corner. Half-an-hour in and there's no goals, but it's a cracking cup tie.

Tottenham have a bit of momentum now and come forward again as Harry Kane twists, turns and crosses just inside the area, but the ball hits Chris Basham who then clears.

It's a first-half hat-trick for Fulham's Ross McCormack. The Cottagers are now cruising, 3-0 up at home to Stuart Pearce's Nottingham Forest. Down on the south coast, Brighton and Ipswich are level at 1-1.

Tottenham reply with an even better chance moments later. Andros Townsend drives in a free-kick and Eric Dier gets a little flick with his head but Blades keeper Mark Howard parries behind for a corner, which comes to nothing.

Just over 20 minutes and the best chance so far falls to Sheffield United as Jamal Campbell-Ryce fizzes a dangerous-looking ball across goal, all it needs is a little touch from one of his team-mates but no-one can get to it in time and the ball flies just wide of the far post.

Nigel Clough and Mauricio Pochettino are chatting away on the touchline. A little smile from Clough, it's all good natured. Not too much for Pochettino to smile about with regards to what is happening on the pitch. Tottenham have been second best in the opening exchanges.

"Emmanuel Adebayor caught Louis Reed with his arm but it was not intentional. I think Adebayor sticks his hand out just to hold him off, and because there is a distinct difference in height he ended up catching him in his face unfortunately. I don't think it was vital conduct. Spurs are getting more and more frustrated at the minute. Sheffield United have started well. "
