Ibrahima Traore of Borussia Monchengladbach has led like the captain he is for his side today. Bags of energy and creativity. This time a shot from range is way off target but they look to have settled after that body blow of an equaliser.

Yaya Toure has not hit his heights today. The man mountain runs with the ball in midfield but falls and then shows his anger by screaming to the heavens.

Chance..Wilfried Bony...great defending. It looked for all the world that Bony would turn home from three yards after superb wide play by Serge Aurier but his fizzed cross is deflected behind just as Bony draws his foot to tap in.

We have a right climax on our hands here. Guinea took their goal scorer off seconds before the equaliser. Not ideal timing by the boss...

Just as I wrote them off, substitute Seydou Doumbia steers the leveller into the bottom corner. It's well worked. Yaya to Wilfried Bony with a lofted pass, the new Manchester City striker pulls the ball down and lays it on a plate. Right-foot, across the keeper, bottom corner. Doumbia screams with delight.

Gervinho's dismissal has killed Ivory Cost here. They looked to be at least be improving when he had a moment of sheer madness. Now substitutions are breaking up the game. One cross has caused a moment of uncertainty as Naby Yattara in the Guinea goal palmed the ball into the goal mouth, but aside from that...little.

Cris Kai:, external Not surprised Wenger had to sell Gervinho...how could such an experienced player cost his team just like that?

Rob Bown:, external What's the fastest the Ivory Coast can be kicked out, so we get Yaya and Bony back in the Premier League?

The group stages are over by the end of the month Rob.

That's that for Salomon Kalou. On comes Seydou Doumbia of CSKA Moscow - he caused Manchester City problems earlier this season. Siaka Tiene also on for Serey Die who was on a yellow.

Cheick Tiote with what some may call a clever foul, hacking down on the edge of the box to prevent danger. Another card...yellow. The fizzed delivery causes anarchy in the six yard box but a solid punch by Sylvain Gbohouo ends the danger.

  14. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January 2015

Ivory Coast almost finished off by Ibrahima Traore. All of his own work, cutting in from the right he clipped a shot which Sylvain Gbohouo waved goodbye. The cross bar saves...

  15. Postpublished at 17:17 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January 2015

Yaya Toure runs to take a corner. He really has to find something for his side now as they play on with 10. You'd think they have to commit so this should create bags of space on the break for Guinea.

Gervinho's red came from nothing. He seemed to protest his marker had stood on his foot. Who now can offer the pace only he was injecting?

  16. RED CARDpublished at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January 2015

Ivory Coast's best player has just fully lost the plot and needs to be restrained. Gervinho, with a headband on, slaps a marker who shows him too much attention off the ball.

It's been seen. Out comes the red and Gervinho drops to the ground and slaps the floor with both hands.

  17. CLOSE!published at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January 2015

Yaya Toure, 25 yards, space...well wide. A good area for someone we all know packs a punch. Goal kick. Just 35 minutes away from our first big shock of Afcon 2015 here...

Max Gradel of St Etienne and once of Leeds United is about to come on for Ivory Coast.

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 17:12 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January 2015

Many of you may remember the sight of Serey Die crying his eyes out for Ivory Coast during national anthems at the 2014 World Cup. He's a little puppy isn't he?

Not quite. As Ibrahima Conté pokes a ball past him and races away he slides a full 10 yards to take the winger out. A professional foul. Had Conte been more central that would have been a red as he was the last man.

  19. Postpublished at 17:08 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January 2015

Gervinho begs for a free-kick to be taken quickly and it is, he's away, running at the full-back, great defending. Baissama Sankoh looks young and is at just 22. That was calm stuff. He holds off the Roma forward. No danger here...
