"I wish I could play here every week, I think that is my fourth win on the bounce at Forest as a manager," said Holloway after his team won for the first time in nine games.

Swansea manager Garry Monk on the sending off of Ryan Bertrand: "It didn't look great at the time, it was more his trailing leg and his two feet were off the floor. Whether he made contact with the ball or not, and whether it's a red I'm not sure. I just thought it was a bad tackle."

  3. Manager reactionpublished at 18:24 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2015

Swansea manager Garry Monk, speaking to Sky Sports: "Tactically we had a good gameplan. We knew there would be moments when we had to defend and overall we frustrated them. We took our chances when we got them and all in all we can be happy. With this win we are back on track, and what a terrific strike from Jonjo Shelvey. That was enough to win any game.

"We knew we would not have the lion's share of possession but we had a plan to hold our shape and then break when we could. Tactically we got it spot on and the boys thoroughly deserved the three points. In the first half we maybe gave them too much respect but in the second we had a lot more of the ball. We really worked our socks off, we passed it well and we took our chances when we could."

  5. Pearce leaves Forestpublished at 18:19 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2015

Did you see Danny Mills's criticism of Stuart Pearce a few weeks back? If not, watch it here.

Mills says: "Pearce always starts well but goes off the boil. He is very predictable.

"After 10 games people work him out. He gets teams going but after a while, players aren't stupid, they're not naive and they start to suss him out. He doesn't have the depth of football ability to back it up.

"Actually, he is not a great coach, he's not a great tactician, he's not a great motivator and he struggles with big players who question his authority."

  9. Manager reactionpublished at 18:11 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2015

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman on the sending-off of Ryan Bertrand: "It was in front of my view and I saw, but in my opinion it isn't a red card. He touched the ball, OK, maybe a yellow card. If we feel it is not we can't accept this, because it isn't a red card."

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman, speaking to Sky Sports: "We are disappointed. We were a bit unlucky because we did a lot of good things. We played well in the first half, had some good chances, but you know if you do not score you see what happens in the second half. We were less controlled and had less domination. OK it was a good goal from them but I think the luckiest team won today. They came for one point but got three points. OK we have to accept that.

"Even with 10 players we had good chances to make at least a draw, which would have been deserved."

  11. Postpublished at 18:09 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2015

Is Jonjo Shelvey something of a rough diamond? He scored the winning goal and also struck the post, but his pass completion rate of 68% was lower than every single Southampton player bar Graziano Pelle (60%). Poor for a midfielder? Or are the stats deceiving?

  12. Player reactionpublished at 18:05 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2015

Swansea defender Ashley Williams speaking to Sky Sports: "The team worked so hard for the full 90 and it was a brilliant strike from Jonjo. As a centre-half you love a clean sheet. We have a lot of injuries and a few new guys coming in, but you saw the way we wanted to play the game, the commitment we had, and we deserved the three points. This is a tough place to come. When you have had a bit of a wobble you need something like that to get back on track. We work so hard to prepare for each game, we wanted to do ourselves justice."

  13. Player reactionpublished at 18:03 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2015

Swansea midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, speaking to Sky Sports: "I just took the geezer on and thought why not hit it? I have been told to shoot a bit more. I think the 'keeper got a touch, but it was a great strike. The most important thing is the three points. We started off a bit shaky but in the second half we grew into it."

Bertrand argues with Monk over his sending offImage source, Reuters

Ben Johnson: Harsh on Ryan Bertrand. Poor tackle but not malicious. Yellow was fair. Ref with another dodgy decision this season.

Cameron Laws: Spot on Michael Oliver. That's a disgusting tackle. Knee height and he's scissored the player. Should be more than a three game ban in my opinion.
