"Mark Hughes will be going back to Blackburn, who he managed very well and where he also won the League Cup as a player under Graeme Souness. I saw Blackburn beat Swansea - they knocked them out of the FA Cup a couple of weeks ago - and they were very good. But Stoke are so powerful. I do fancy Stoke but they will have to be at their very best to win."

West Ham United have urged their fans to use the A1, A14, M6 route to travel to their FA Cup match at West Bromwich Albion following serious incidents on the M1 and M40.

About 30 vehicles have been involved in a fatal crash between junction nine and junction 10 in Oxfordshire, while the M1 is closed northbound between junctions 12 and 13 in Bedfordshire following a collision between a car and a coach.

There have also been some disruptions as well via the train, so best of luck to those trying to get there, and we will keep you informed if there is a kick-off delay.

Victory for PSG in their game we mentioned a couple of entries ago would see Zlatan Ibrahimovic (pictured) and his team-mates leapfrog Ligue 1 leaders Lyon, who play on Sunday.

Meanwhile, champions Bayern Munich could extend their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to 11 points with a win at home to Hamburg at 14:30 GMT.

What's Zlatan Ibrahimovic up to for Valentine's Day? PSG are in action this afternoon against Caen, but I wouldn't put it past him to stop off on his way to the game and call in on his waxwork.

Got to love his caption as well for the above photo: "The one to the right is made of wax and the one to the left is made of steel."

He definitely sent himself a Valentine's Day card...

History suggests the first game today will not involved the eventual winner of the FA Cup.

Both sides have good pedigree in the competition, but it has been a while since they gone all the way. West Brom's last win was in 1968, while West Ham won it in 1980.

Liam Riley: "I took my better half to Bolton v Arsenal in an FA Cup replay 2007 game on the premise I would take her for a nice meal first. We got stuck in match day traffic so the meal wasn't too good, the game went to extra time and we lost and she froze and vowed never to come to the match again! We are still together though!"

"When Andy Carroll was out earlier in the season West Ham kind of fell in to playing in a bit more of an open way. With Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia in the side, those two are interchangeable, one playing on the wing and the other more central. If you have an Andy Carroll in the side you feel you have to knock the ball up to him and play in a more direct style, so in a strange way I think his injury might help West Ham to adapt their style a little bit.

"We all knew Tony Pulis would steady the ship at West Brom. He seems to have settled on Saido Berahino and Brown Ideye in the side upfront, and they will be able to cause West Ham a lot of problems."

  15. Hammers play 'scintillating' footballpublished at 10:06 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Former West Ham striker John Hartson
    BBC Radio 5 live

"With Chelsea out and Manchester City out, West Ham will be hoping for a trip to Wembley. They are playing some great football under Sam Allardyce, some scintillating football. And in midweek having gone down to 10 men they got a great point at Southampton. Andy Carroll is a massive loss to them though.

"West Brom, under Tony Pulis they are showing great spirit. Last week they got a point after going two down at Burnley and they beat Swansea in midweek, which was an excellent result. I think it should be a great game."

Looking ahead to today's action and one player who will not feature for West Ham is striker Andy Carroll, who will have surgery on his injured left knee next week and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Carroll suffered medial ligament damage in Wednesday's 0-0 draw at Southampton.

The 26-year-old was forced to stay on the pitch because West Ham were down to 10 men and had made all three of their substitutions.

  18. Lawro's predictionspublished at 09:56 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

    BBC Sport expert Mark Lawrenson

Mickey Thomas and Nigel Jemson are part of FA Cup folklore. Thomas scored a spectacular free-kick to help Fourth Division side Wrexham memorably beat league champions Arsenal in 1992. Eleven years later, Jemson hit both goals as Shrewsbury beat an Everton side who were 80 places above them.

Now the pair are hoping to produce another great shock - defeating BBC Sport's football expert Mark Lawrenson in this week's Lawro's predictions.

Jemson, who is now working as a coach at Nottingham Forest's academy, told BBC Sport: "It is well documented that I do not like Manchester United, who I turned down when they tried to sign me before I joined Forest in 1988. I would love to see a major upset on Monday and for Preston to win."

Have a look at their weekend predictions and see if you agree with them.

It might be easy to think that footballers and football managers are not the romantic types, but think again. There will be plenty up and down the country today showing their soppy side to their respective partners.

Even the legendary Bill Shankly, the no-nonsense Scot who won three First Division titles, two FA Cups and the UEFA Cup as Liverpool boss, was capable of displaying moments of romance, in his own way anyway, once taking his wife to a Rochdale game to celebrate a special occasion.

"Of course I didn't take my wife to see Rochdale as an anniversary present. It was her birthday," he once said., external

"Would I have got married in the football season? Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves."
