  3. Liverpool keeper back after bad timepublished at 09:35 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

There's an interesting interview in the Daily Telegraph today with Liverpool's Simon Mignolet in which the keeper effectively admits to having had the yips.

Mignolet claims he was overthinking his entire game, external and, after being axed from the team before Christmas, it took some harsh words from his fiancee over a meal in a restaurant to sort him out.

"It's probably to do with my character, being someone who went to school, university, and even in my private life - I'm not someone who will act impulsively or do crazy things," he said. "I won't wake up and go and buy myself a Ferrari, which some football players might do. It is in my character and came into my game."

Since winning back his place, the Liverpool man has kept five clean sheets in eight games - and looks likely to be between the sticks when Brendan Rodgers' side face Palace later today.

Taking a look at The Sun and its claim that Burnley striker Danny Ings is heading to Spain today for talks with David Moyes' Real Sociedad, external.

This would appear to be a blow for Liverpool, who are rumoured to be keen on acquiring the 22-year-old's services in the summer.

According to the paper, Sociedad are set to offer Ings - who has fired nine goals in 22 Premier League games - a £60,000-a-week contract in a bid to tempt him to leave the Clarets at the end of the season

An interesting tale in The Mirror, who report that former England, Arsenal and Tottenham centre-half Sol Campbell wants to be the next manager, external of Aston Villa.

Given the 40-year-old has no coaching experience whatsoever and revealed his ambition on Twitter, this would appear to be - and this is putting it mildly - something of a long shot.

    The IndependentImage source, The Independent

Tim Sherwood seems close to being appointed the next Aston Villa manager, reports The Independent.

Sherwood has been linked with just about every Premier League managerial vacancy going this term, after the job he did at Tottenham last season.

If he gets the nod at Villa, the 46-year-old has a heck of a job in his hands - the team is without a win in 10 Premier League games, during which time they have collected three points and scored two goals. Grim.
