Andrej Kramaric heads just over as Aston Villa fail to clear a free-kick. Leicester are on the hunt for an equaliser but the hosts disrupt their momentum slightly as they do decide to make that change they had planned earlier, Scott Sinclair on for goalscorer Leandro Bacuna.

Shay Given has not had a great deal to do, but what he has done has keep Leicester at bay when needed. He makes a crucial block as Riyad Mahrez curls a dangerous ball into the box, before Ron Vlaar clears.

Aston Villa could get another one, you know? They are flying forward at every opportunity and Christian Benteke strokes home neatly after another Villa attack, but he is offside.

Before that goal, Leandro Bacuna was moments away from being taken off. Scott Sinclair, who was getting ready to come back on, sits back down.

Well how about this, rub your eyes Aston Villa fans because yes, this is a goal! For all of Aston Villa's possession, the long balls into the box were rarely working. A change of tack produces the opener as Leandro Bacuna runs at the defence, Leicester back off and Bacuna curls a fine strike into the back of the net. Villa fans go wild.

Esteban Cambiasso relieves some pressure on the Leicester defence by picking up the ball and running with it into the Aston Villa half. It is only a brief respite as Villa win it back and quickly attack as Christian Benteke sends another header just wide.

Nigel Pearson decides it is time to mix things up, on comes forward Leonardo Ulloa for Marcin Wasilewski, a defender. The Foxes are going for it.

"If I was Leicester, I'd gamble. What have they got to lose? Villa are on top, so why not take one of the centre-backs off and go for it?"

It was pretty much 50-50 in the first half but Aston Villa are well on top now. Paul Konchesky gives away a free-kick in another promising position for Villa as he dives in on Tom Cleverley. Konchesky is shown the yellow card before Ashley Westwood fires the free-kick into the area, but it is too long for his Villa team-mates.

Sunderland

Bradford boss Phil Parkinson names former Sunderland players Jon Stead and Billy Knott in a strong line-up. Ben Williams comes in for on-loan Black Cats goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who is ineligible.

Sunderland head Gus Poyet coach makes six changes, resting Jermain Defoe, with Danny Graham partnering Steven Fletcher up front. Vito Mannone replaces Costel Pantilimon in goal.

Bradford City XI: Williams, Darby, McArdle, Davies, Meredith, Liddle, Morais, Knott, Clarke, Hanson, Stead.

Sunderland XI: Mannone, Jones, van Aanholt, Brown, O'Shea, Bridcutt, Larsson, Johnson, Alvarez, Fletcher, Graham.

Matt Upson's first contribution after running off that earlier injury is to give away a free-kick on the right-hand edge of the area. It is played short to Fabian Delph who launches an effort at goal from 35-yards but it is well, well wide.

Matt Upson is down injured after leaning into a battle for possession with Leandro Bacuna. A short delay before he is back up on his feet and good to continue.

Ross in Kent: I bet those seats in the top tier of Villa Park are pretty dusty! Whenever I see Villa play it's always empty! Tim Sherwood's first job should be to be up there dusting them off ready for the fans he's hoping to attract back!

Emil, Lincolnshire: Best thing about the Villa v Leicester game has to be Black Sabbath's Paranoid playing on the pa at half time!

Leicester have some defending to do once again as Fabian Delph plays the ball out wide to Aly Cissokho, who sends in the cross and Christian Benteke gets up to meet it, but can't get the direction he will have hoped for and the ball loops into the hands of Mark Schwarzer.

Aston Villa fans are sensing the increase in urgency from their side, and they respond by becoming more vocal. Again Villa come forward as Alan Hutton lifts the ball into the area for Christian Benteke, who is unmarked, but Mark Schwarzer is bravely off his line to block the striker's volley from close range. Much, much better from the hosts.
