I wouldn't like to say that a team of highly-paid professionals "don't' fancy" a game, but Sunderland are giving off that impression.

Bradford are making them look silly at times, winning every header, competing for every second ball and utterly in control. And they nearly have a second, James Meredith crossing from the left, Jon Stead teasing a header across goal but James Hanson can't quite steer it in...

  2. Manager reactionpublished at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2015

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson, speaking to BBC Sport: "We have to take our chances, we had chances in the first half. The first 15 minutes I don't think we were very fluent with the ball but after that we did pretty well. In the second half, we just could not keep hold of the ball, it kept coming back at us.

"The reason we are having a frustrating season is because we don't reproduce performances. All but one player was in the side who started against Arsenal, which was a good performance, and for today we did not do well enough for long periods.

"We have to make sure our performances are more consistent. That is what is more annoying, players when they are in the side have to make sure they produce performances that make it difficult to make changes."

  3. Manager reactionpublished at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2015

Aston Villa caretaker manager Scott Marshall, speaking to BBC Sport: "The game was great today, the boys produced a good performance. The most important thing was the energy and the togetherness was good."

On news Tim Sherwood came in to the Villa dressing room at half-time to speak with the players: "Yeah he came in there and made a few points to the lads. The boys took them on board and delivered it in the second half. They were good goals, Leo cut inside and provided a great finish on his right foot. Scott just had that bit of energy at the end when there were tired legs, he burst through and got a good strike on goal."

Disappointed not to have kept a clean sheet? "One or two will learn from that as well, the determination was always there to see the game out. Leicester threw some bodies forward, they wanted to get through, obviously it's a local game as well."

On what new manager Tim Sherwood will have learned."I think he will have seen the spirit in the dressing room, and hopefully that will continue into the league over the next few weeks."

Here comes Danny Graham, he's had some heavy treatment from his corner man by the looks of it. A nasty cut above his eye and it's all bandaged up now.

Sunderland's body language is not great. Every misplaced pass, every biting tackle in midfield is being met with a wave of the arm or a shout of disbelief.

The Premier League side are not in the game yet.

"The way Bradford have lined up, very much with a back four in place. With Filipe Morais and Billy Clarke sat in front of the defence and that is causing problems because Clarke is picking up a lot of knockdowns."

Half a yard sharper, half a second quicker to everything right now, that's Bradford City. Bossing the game. Sunderland in danger of losing the game before it starts.

Rory McArdle is back on swathed in gauze while Danny Graham remains on the medical table.

Graham has never scored for the Black Cats in two years. Is today the day?

Oooof! A right old clash of heads as Rory McArdle heads the back of Danny Graham's nut. They are both bleeding and Graham sprints off to the dressing rooms, presumably for some stitches.

Bantams centre-half McArdle opts for the huge bandage option. A metre across, right around his head. Both sides down to 10 men for the foreseeable.

"Sunderland started quite nervously defensively. Some poor clearances from their point of view.

"But a wonderful first touch initially from Billy Clarke and his shot deflected off John O'Shea I think. It was the quality of Filipe Morais's free-kick that lead to the goal really."

What a start from the League One side, 37 places below Sunderland in the Football League ladder. They reached Wembley in the League Cup final a few years ago, are they on their way again?

  12. GOALpublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2015

What a start! Bradford are at it again! A free-kick on the right wing is allowed to bounce inside the penalty area, Billy Clarke has a shot and it takes a huge game-changing deflection off John O'Shea and into the net. Why not? Why not indeed!

If you have been watching our FA Cup Rewind series on Saturday and Sunday mornings you'll be familiar with the pitch on display at Bradford this afternoon.

It's not quite as bad as Blackpool's but it's pretty bad. In fact it's terrible. Not a day for a square six-yard pass.

  14. Player reactionpublished at 14:33 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2015

Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given: "We got two goals for a start, we were disappointed to give one away at the end, but with the new manager coming on board everyone's got a point to prove. I've known Tim from our Blackburn days and he's a very positive character. He just came into the dressing room at half-time and spoke positively to us.

"I've not seen my save back, you have a full fly-up at the ball, and hopefully you get the touch. The lads were joking at half-time why I'd given away a corner.

"Everyone's trying to impress the new manager and I'm no different. We've struggled to score goals so it's nice to get a couple and hopefully we can use this momentum in the league now."

Iyere:, external Well done Villa. Tim Sherwood would love to start work on a winning not ,and he got it Now time for the boys to keep scoring to stay up.

NathB:, external Ten minutes of intensity won the game but Villa need that intensity from kick off, not halfway through the second half! FA Cup least of worries.

Robin JD Popley:, external What a disappointing way to go out. That Pearson-itis is why I'd sack him. Lack of passion. No ideas. One sub all game? Awful!

Bradford's chosen slogan for today is the not too ambitious 'Why not?' and the fans on the kop hold up placards emblazoned with it to illuminate Valley Parade.

After beating Chelsea, Aston Villa and Arsenal in the past few years, why not another scalp?

    Alan Shearer
    BBC Sport at Villa Park

"It is a huge boost for Aston Villa and it will give Tim Sherwood confidence too as he has seen a reaction in the second half. When you go into the dressing room you want to see a reaction and he got that."

Scott Sinclair has scored, Aston Villa have won a game, so who knows what unexpected delights the FA Cup can throw at us in Bradford.

It looks, and sounds, like a full house. Sunderland's players look relaxed as they stand waiting for the green light. And here we go!

    Jason Roberts
At Villa Park for BBC Radio 5 live

"An exciting game with an exciting ending. Aston Villa started very positively.

"Leicester didn't commit enough men forward, but when Villa scored a great goal they had to go forward. They put Leonardo Ulloa on and went 4-4-2 and looked much better. The only question is why they didn't do it earlier.

"Aston Villa deserved this and Tim Sherwood will now be looking forward to the next round."
