    So, erm, this is awkward.

Aston Villa's biggest problem this season has been scoring goals and they have managed just four so far in 2015. They do have a striker who is scoring, though, Darren Bent. He has five already this year.

Only problem is, he is on loan at Derby...

    Graeme Le Saux
Former Chelsea defender on Football Focus

"Aston Villa have had injury problems but they are not delivering given the individuals they have in the side. They have a lot of quality but actually they are not performing not anywhere near their potential, and the results mean the inevitable has happened.

"They are sliding now, and that is the problem. When you are going down the league the psychology of trying to pick yourself up is hard. It's hard to change your mentality.

"Tim Sherwood is a confident man, he has a lot of belief, and he worked hard with young players at Spurs. I think he is the right character to have an instant impact at Villa. He had an excellent record at Spurs."

One week ago, Sam Allardyce was the toast of the town after winding up Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal with his suggestion they played long ball in the 1-1 draw between United and West Ham.

This week, though, it seems the fans have turned on him, with the Sunday Express reporting his long-term future at the Hammers is in doubt after an angry reaction by some supporters to Saturday's 4-0 defeat to West Brom.

"Standing ovation. These teams drawn to play each other for the 15th time in the FA Cup and the match will be remembered for as long as the FA cup is played. A stunning evenings entertainment that had absolutely everything except a result."

Former England midfielder on Football Focus

"It was a tough job Paul Lambert had, but given the run of results they have been on... with just 12 goals. Charlie Austin for QPR has scored 13 goals this season so that shows you how bad it is.

"I have seen better sides go down. Newcastle had a lot of quality, the West Ham side that nearly went down with Tevez. This Premier League is ruthless and you have to perform on the pitch. The names on the team sheet mean nothing."

Is Tim Sherwood the right appointment?

"I think it is. I enjoyed working with Tim at Tottenham. I can't speak highly enough of him. His work with young players, the training sessions were fantastic, fitness levels too. When I was working with him I felt great."

Seven-time winners Liverpool came from behind to beat Crystal Palace and move into the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Fraizer Campbell put the Eagles ahead when he followed up to finish after Dwight Gayle's header had been parried by Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

Daniel Sturridge equalised with an excellent left-footed volley from Jordan Henderson's chipped pass before Adam Lallana scored the winner with a close-range follow-up after Mario Balotelli's low free-kick was blocked.

Josh King's hat-trick helped Blackburn shock 10-man Premier League side Stoke and reach the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Peter Crouch reacted quickest to poke Stoke ahead from close range, but Championship side Rovers were level when forward King, who had earlier hit the crossbar, made amends by flicking in the equaliser from a corner.

Hal Robson-Kanu gave the visitors a 53rd-minute lead after Stephen Warnock had been sent off on his Derby debut for fouling Jamie Mackie.

Darren Bent's fifth goal in as many games levelled the scores in the all-Championship tie eight minutes later, but Yakubu sealed a 2-1 win.
