Garrett, Castlewellan: How many times this year have I checked to see how Manchester United are doing and the opposing team are well on top and United creating nothing? They may have lost their manager, their experienced players and their style of play, but they still have that luck... United to win.
Tc, Birmingham: People are quick to criticise United but what are West Ham doing? Lumping the ball up for two men to chase. Regardless of how much attacking talent on show, defend by parking the bus like West Ham and teams struggle to get through.

Did you know that Angel Di Maria's yearly salary is equivalent to the cost of 217,476 Manchester United replica shirts with 'Di Maria' printed on the back? You do now. Go and have a play with our footballers' wages calculator. Try not to get too upset with the findings.
Ashley Wilkinson: Nothing about this Manchester United side impresses me. That five of Robin van Persie, Radamel Falcao, Angel Di Maria, Wayne Rooney and Adnan Januzaj should be ripping teams apart.
Dave W: If United were to sell Di Maria at the end of the season they'd make a huge loss. That performance worth about half what they paid for him.

"It has been a very good contest, probably just edged by West Ham with the pressure they have put on Manchester United. Sam Allardyce will be happy with the number of chances his side have created if not the way they have been finished but is this the United style we have got to become accustomed to? This first-half performance has been very similar to the game at Queens Park Rangers, which they went on to win."
MOTD's Steve Bower at Upton Park
"West Ham have had the better of it, with David De Gea making two or three good saves. The visitors will want to test the Spaniard's countryman at the other end much more in the second half."
Sam: I work with a West Ham fan, and he predicted yesterday that they'd play really well but lose. Halfway there!

Full-time has just gone in the Scottish Cup tie between Rangers and Raith Rovers. It is more cup woe for Rangers, who have lost the game at Ibrox 2-1. On-loan Newcastle player Haris Vuckic had given Rangers hope of a result with an equaliser after Ryan Conroy had given Raith the lead. But Christian Nade's goal for the visitors with about 15 minutes left has proved decisive. You can follow all the reaction to that game on our Scottish live text commentary.
Angel Di Maria smashes a shot straight into Adrian while Adnan Januzaj's effort is fired into the head of Cheikhou Kouyate. Better from the visitors.
The only time Manchester United look dangerous is when Angel Di Maria picks up the ball in midfield and runs with it.
Again West Ham pour forward, this time when Marcos Rojo gives the ball away, but Diafra Sakho wastes the opportunity.

"The tempo and intent is all from West Ham. Manchester United are finding it very hard to play it out of the back with any real conviction or control at all."
Seany Ekon: West Ham all over Manchester United like a rash. What a joke - with all their attacking options, United cannot create a chance. Kevin Nolan to score.

I had a little computer crash, hence the late update, but West Ham wanted a penalty a couple of minutes ago when Enner Valencia went down in the area under Marcos Rojo's challenge. However, replays showed the striker was not touched and dived. Good decision by Mark Clattenburg.
I can confirm that Radamel Falcao has touched the ball, but not in areas which will hurt West Ham...

"This is a good period for West Ham. Manchester United are looking vulnerable defensively and at the moment they cannot keep hold of the ball, which is giving West Ham the impetus to continue with their pressure. I think United are a better team when Michael Carrick is in that defensive midfield position for them."
Tim Schofield: How can that not be a red card for Robin van Persie? (see 29 mins) I hope the FA will review that one!
Thomas Fiorilli: Manchester United actually playing some decent possession football. Nice stuff lacking a little penetration.
Daniel Fenton: Has Radamel Falcao touched the ball yet?

Another West Ham chance, another good David De Gea save. This time the Spaniard saves James Tomkins' towering header at the back stick. The Hammers piling on the pressure.
It's all gone a bit scrappy as both teams commit niggling fouls and Ed Sheeran's biggest fan, Mark Clattenburg, tries to keep a lid on emotions.

"Referee Mark Clattenburg gave the free-kick so he saw the incident, but he didn't book Robin van Persie and Sam Allardyce is up there making his opinion known. Manchester United have not yet carved out the kind of clear opportunity you would expect them to have. They are just missing that final bit of quality. David De Gea has been the busier of the 'keepers."
