Evuy lazily challenges Jonathan Mensah on the left flank, his hands are all over him as he stops him chasing the ball, and the referee awards the free kick while showing Evuy the yellow card. Probably job done as far as Evuy is concerned, as Ghana waste the free-kick. Goalless at half-time written all over this one.

Ohhh big call by the referee. Ivan Edu dives in on Mubarak Wakaso and steals possession before racing off towards goal. Wakaso is left as an embarrassed heap on the floor but his blushes are spared as the referee gives Ghana a free-kick. Edu is fuming.

"Just wonder if Equatorial Guinea keeper Felipe Ovono is going to get one of those wrong."

  12. Postpublished at 19:22 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2015

Felipe Ovono is definitely not adverse to racing off his line and he is at it again, it is a wise move as he gets to Kwesi Appiah's through ball ahead of Christian Atsu.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2015

Baba Rahman is swiftly in the thick of things as he clips a delicate ball for Andre Ayew just inside the area, he waits for it to bounce kindly but is unaware of Felipe Ovono charging out the goal to belt the ball clear. It starts a counter with Kike charging away, until Wakasu Mubarak knocks him to the ground. Yellow card.

Michael Blighe:, external As much as it would be wonderful for Eq Guinea to make the final, we know that Ghana v Ivory Coast would be a better match-up!

  16. Postpublished at 19:13 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2015

After a bright first few minutes for Ghana it has opened up a bit now and to Equatorial Guinea's credit they have had some good attacking moments. Nervousness in the final third is letting them down, though.

"The cross was brilliant. Iban Edu slipped at the wrong moment. Equatorial Guinea created first opportunity of the match."

  18. Postpublished at 19:08 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2015

This is better though. Kiki crosses low from the right and a defender makes a mess of his clearance, scooping the ball up into the air and it falls to Javier Balboa, who cannot deliver the knockout blow...

A chance for Equatorial Guinea now as Emilio Nsue is wrestled to the ground midway inside the Ghana half, earning his side a free-kick. It is taken quickly to Ruben Belima, who gets all excited and tries an audacious, shot/cross but it is well, well wide.
