"It's Mario, it's the way he is. What do you expect?"
We all owe Aston Villa an apology for criticising their lack of goals - they're the only team to score in these FA Cup quarter-finals so far. Mario Balotelli shoots from at least 35 yards and finds Row K of the Anfield Road end. Woeful.
Luke:, external Never a pen on Sturridge, only started to go down when he could not get the ball. Skrtel would be sent off every game if it was.
Jon Evans:, external Mignolet's save is one which can push a team on for a win. Made a difference so far.
Khomgrit Morarach:, external This frustration, oh this frustration. Come on lads!

"Credit to Gary Bowyer's side. The work rate they have shown, they have thrown their bodies on the line. Liverpool have the better players but Blackburn have worked tirelessly."
Blackburn do make a change. It's former Oldham winger Chris Taylor on for Ben Marshall.
Great block from Corry Evans to shut down a Philippe Coutinho strike but Blackburn need to change this. It's wave upon wave of Reds attacks. Rudy Gestede, such a handful up front for Rovers in the first half, has been disarmed.

"With Mario Balotelli on with Daniel Sturridge all of a sudden Philippe Couthino has got much more of the ball.
"Liverpool's movement in the penalty area is better too.
"Blackburn can't get the ball forward and therefore they can't get out of their own half."
Liverpool having continual pressure now, and they win another free-kick in a good area.
Blackburn can't get out now, no out ball to Rudy Gestede, no out ball at all. Can they contain for half an hour without conceding?
Liverpool changing their shape and befuddling Robbie Savage's mind in the process. Raheem Sterling at left-back? It's all a bit muddled for now but Mario Balotelli is definitely staying up front. Liverpool force a flurry of corners...

"Here comes Super Mario. Lazar Markovic has got lots of ability but he never really commits a defender and I think he is frightened to lose the ball sometimes. He is better than that in all honesty."
Kolo Toure! The defender hits the post from five yards out - terrible miss in fact - but the offside flag was raised anyway. Liverpool are having their best spell of the afternoon.
Excellent defending again from Matt Kilgallon as he cuts out a dangerous cross from the left. He had to make that.
Change for the hosts sees Lazar Markovic replaced by Mario Balotelli.
Mario Balotelli is warming up. Well, you know what I mean.

"Matthew Kilgallon put his arm out. Whether there is any contact I'm not sure but Daniel Sturridge went over very easily. Diving, it's just cheating, I'm sorry.
"But the game is quicker and it is suiting Liverpool."
Chris, in Solihull: Anfield seems very muted, it is a good job the Blackburn fans are there making some noise.
Dan, Huddersfield: Really poor refereeing again today. Should have been three penalties in the first half.

Emre Can goes on a dangerous run but fails to get a pass off when he could, leading to a Blackburn counter, but Liverpool soon win it back and Daniel Sturridge goes down in the area!
Matt Kilgallon has an arm on Sturridge as he chased a pass from Raheem Sterling. Risky defending...

"Liverpool are getting frustrated. They can't break this Blackburn side down."
There's a goal or two in this game, I'm sure of it. Pretty sure...
It's opening up now. Blackburn next to threaten down their right as Raheem Sterling fails to track back but it comes to nothing. Jordan Rhodes time?

"Better from Liverpool. A little bit quicker and no surprise that they got two or three chances out of that move. Good defending from Alex Baptiste in the end."
