It's PFA awards season and I've seen lots of players nominating Jose Fonte and Nathaniel Clyne into their teams of the year. The reason? Southampton have allowed fewer shots on target against them than any other team in the Premier League this season.

    The best defence in town?

But the biggest game this lunchtime - some might say - is also on the south coast but a few miles east. Brighton are safe from the perils of the drop but all eyes are on the golden boys themselves as Watford try to secure a passage back to the Premier League.

Watford can go up today if they win and other results go their way. Can they do it? I'll let you know of any goals or major incidents but you can follow minute-by-minute updates over here in this page.

First up in the Premier League today comes Spurs' trip to Southampton.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has just told the cameras that he 'still loves Southampton' but will the Saints fans still love him? I doubt it.

The sides are just coming out to warm up on the south coast.

    Afternoon everyone.

Whatever your circumstances, the end of the season is closing in fast. Let's enjoy it while we can. You'll soon have to go shopping, do some DIY or some other nonsense on a weekend if you're not careful...

Southampton make one change with James Ward Prowse coming in for Dusan Tadic in midfield. Defender Toby Alderweireld has passed a fitness test on his shoulder and keeps his place despite being stretchered off last weekend.

Tottenham make three changes. Keeper Hugo Lloris is passed fit, defender Ben Davies starts in place of Danny Rose while Paulinho's wife is expecting a baby so Ryan Mason plays in midfield.

Southampton XI: Kelvin Davis, Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Bertrand, Schneiderlin, Alderweireld, Ward-Prowse, Mane, Steven Davis, Pelle. Subs: Gardos, Long, Tadic, Elia, Gazzaniga, Reed, Targett.

Tottenham Hotspur XI: Lloris, Dier, Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies, Mason, Bentaleb, Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli, Kane. Subs: Chiriches, Soldado, Yedlin, Vorm, Townsend, Dembele, Stambouli.

  14. Quiz time over!published at 11:50 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

OK then. Time to reveal the answers to that earlier quiz question I posed. Who are the only two footballers to have made over 500 Premier League appearances for one club?

The answers are Eric Djemba-Djemba and Bruno Cheyrou.

Of course I jest. Only Ryan Giggs (632) and Jamie Carragher (508) have made over 500 appearances in the division for a single club. There you go then.

Well done to Damian O'Neill, who was the first to give the correct answers.

    Matt Le TissierImage source, Empics

That's it for your footballing secrets. Here's a final few to mull over.

Lucy, Nottinghamshire: I'm a Saints fan and I don't really like Matt Le Tissier, Southampton legend. Brilliant footballer but his forthright opinions since he retired have sometimes threatened to destabilise the club.

Tim, Battersea: Devoted Spurs fan, but I was forced to try on an Arsenal shirt we were buying as a present for my brother-in-law, as we're about the same size. My wife told me to stop being so silly and complaining. If only she understood... the shame. The horror.

Rob, Barnet: School team was rubbish, losing double figures most weeks. Fellow full-back and I had a yearly 'who can score the most own goals competition'. Poor goalie had no chance with some of our back passes. (Barnet are going up).

Newcastle are perhaps a bit fortunate that games are running out in the Premier League.

They have been on a terrible run of form, losing their last six games and are seven points above the relegation zone ahead of today's game against Swansea. Some pundits have predicted Newcastle will not win another point this season, much to the annoyance of manager John Carver.

"I don't have a problem with anyone having an opinion," he said. "Where I have the problem is when there are people that have an opinion who have never been in this situation, never been in my situation. They have never had to sit here and pick a team when you have got so many injuries, suspensions, or dealing with situations on the training ground or having to deal with things coming from left-field that you think, 'Where's that come from?'."
