West Brom, meanwhile, are pretty much certain to be playing Premier League football next season.

They are 13th with 36 points, eight clear of relegation but will be keen to get one more win on the board so that they can start to plan for the future, especially with games against Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal coming up.

Baggies captain Darren Fletcher believes there are many similarities between his boss Tony Pulis and former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Find out why on Football Focus at 12:15 BST on BBC One and at the top of this page.

Steven Gerrard helped Liverpool win the FA Cup in 2006

There will no open-top bus antics for Steven Gerrard in his final season at Liverpool after his last chance of winning one final piece of silverware with the Reds was ended by Aston Villa in the semi-finals of the FA Cup last weekend.

Instead, the best he can hope for is to end his time at the club on a positive note by helping them snatch fourth in the Premier League and with it, a Champions League place.

They are seven points behind fourth-placeD Manchester City, but with a game in hand, and Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers said: "It is going to be difficult but we have to be there and fighting. It is a distant possibility, mathematically it could be, but the reliance is not with ourselves."

BBC Sport Football League reporter Mark Clemmit: "With two games left, this could be the weekend we see teams going up and Watford could do it, albeit in a scruffy and unsatisfactory way. If they win at Brighton in the early kick-off then they'll be looking at Norwich and Middlesbrough's results, and they could be on the M25 when they learn what has happened. The Championship promotion race has been truly enthralling. I still think you can back all top four teams to win their last two games."

What's your guiltiest football secret? The Danny Baker Show on BBC Radio 5 live wants to know.

Harvey Tims: Brother has a liking for Arsenal despite being a Sheffield Wednesday fan, too young to remember them beating us twice at Wembley in 93!

Above you can see Ian Wright of Arsenal and Nigel Worthington of Sheffield Wednesday looking nostalgic in the FA Cup final of that year.

Jack Beecroft: I handballed the ball into the net deliberately during an U-11s match. Still can't bring myself to tell my dad after 13 years

Chris Albas-Martin: I'm a Birmingham fan but first kit was a Villa one and first game was an Albion game.

  9. Ups & Downs - Championshippublished at 10:53 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

In the Championship, table-topping Watford will be promoted if they beat Brighton and other results go their way.

Should they win and Bournemouth and Middlesbrough both lose, the Hornets would be promoted. Equally, defeat for one of those two, coupled with Norwich failing to win, would also be sufficient.

    Bournemouth don't play until Monday.

Not since Roberto Mancini has there been a finer wearer of a scarf in the Premier League than Dick Advocaat, but the Sunderland boss has a lot more on his plate than touchline style.

The Black Cats have seemingly been treading water in the Premier League for a few seasons now, with Martin O'Neill, Paolo Di Canio and Gus Poyet having all kept them up in previous years. Now it is Advocaat's turn to try to secure top-flight survival, with Sunderland just one point above the relegation zone in 16th.

"I think six, seven points must be possible, otherwise we don't deserve it," he says. "It's quite simple. If you look at the table, then we have to do it in the next four games."

Four defeats, two draws and no wins in their last six games. Hull City are very much in danger of being relegated.

However, if the club's plans for what happens if they do go down does not motivate their players, then nothing will. The Tigers are 17th, out of the relegation zone on goal difference, and travel to Crystal Palace today. To make matters worse, they have to play four of the top six in their run-in - Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United.

"The club has a strict policy that if we do get relegated then we don't fall into drastic times," Hull boss Steve Bruce said. "Everybody concerned takes a huge reduction in salary, and most players take a 40% or 50% reduction."

Former England midfielder Jermaine Jenas: "It's a real shame that Sam Allardyce is almost having to sell himself in order to get a new contract. He's done a tremendous job and deserves one. West Ham are traditionally known for playing entertaining football and I think he has given them that for three quarters of the season."

    No more Mr Nice Guy.

That's what QPR boss Chris Ramsey is promising as he looks to guide his side out of the relegation zone. They host West Ham today looking for only their second win in nine games and Ramsey suggests he will go all Incredible Hulk on his players if they do not stick to his game plan.

"People think I'm a nice guy and a bit soft but obviously I'm not because the players have most of the time stuck to the game plan and given the effort that's needed," Ramsey said.

"I was a little bit angry after the Chelsea game, away from the dressing room, because it was a very soft goal we gave away. How did I vent the anger? I would rather keep that to myself. It was old-school."

"Most people think Leicester will win this because they have just won three in a row. It's certainly given them a massive lift and galvanised team spirit under Nigel Pearson. But I actually think Burnley, at home and needing a victory, might win. It's a massive game in terms of the relegation battle."

So yeah, this could be a bit awkward.

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson described Burnley as "quite poor" when the two sides drew 2-2 earlier this season, but Clarets boss Sean Dyche has no intention of dragging those comments up when the two meet again today.

"Every manager has the chance to say whatever they want to," said Dyche. "I have no problem with that. If you look in my history, I have very rarely - if ever - questioned the opposition or the manager."

Good job Dyche seems a pretty calm character. I would really, really hate to get on the wrong side of him.
