  3. 'The hard work's not done'published at 17:20 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson: "We weren't at our best, in the sense that our football wasn't sparkling, but both sides were committed to the game. We took advantage of a disappointing moment for them.

"I think the players have got rewards for the performances they have put in for a long time. We had to battle. I can't honestly say that we deserved to win the game, but once you get ahead, you have to make sure you see the game out.

"You've got to find ways of winning games. The players have got eight months experience in the Premier League. The players have deserved the breaks they've got, through a lot of honesty, hard work and ability. It's always a difficult league to be successful in, and we've got a lot of hard work to do. If people think the hard work's done, they're in for a shock."

Leicester match-winner Jamie Vardy: "It's definitely my goal. I've seen a replay, and I managed to get it right on the line. We've been playing good football for most of the season and losing, so it's about time we got a win when we weren't at our best.

"We haven't had the rub of the green, but we kept going and we've never felt sorry for ourselves."

  7. Manager reactionpublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

Newcastle boss John Carver: "When you lose so many games your confidence is going to be hit. Again we showed character, the players stayed with it right to the end. Ayoze Perez had a good chance at 3-1 down and Siem De Jong got the second goal and we kept going but it's not good enough."

Middlesbrough, in third, have lost a thriller 4-3 to Fulham and with fourth-placed Norwich drawing 1-1 with Rotherham, Watford are promoted to the Premier League.

Ipswich's 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest sees them leapfrog Derby, who drew 3-3 with Millwall, into fifth.

Brentford won 2-0 at Reading, while Wolves defeated Wigan 1-0. Both the Bees and Wolves are two points off the play-off places going into the final fixtures of the season next weekend.

At the bottom, it's as you were - Wigan remain second-bottom, with Millwall immediately above them and Rotherham a place above the drop zone. All three still have a chance of survival.

Red Parsley: I'm so sick of Newcastle fans constantly moaning. The whole page is full of them! If only they had real problems....

Gavin Watson: West Ham having shocking second half of the season. Shame both halves of the season have been shocking for QPR, so down we go

Charles Kahanji: Leicester are surely staying up after this massive massive result. Just look at Nigel Pearson who rarely shows his emotions

  12. 'We were outstanding'published at 17:06 British Summer Time 25 April 2015

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers Rodgers: "We created opportunities, our only downfall was taking those chances but that has been a problem over the course of the season. I thought the players were outstanding, their courage and play on the ball. Across the team there were some outstanding performances.

"We have a game in hand and we have to chase that and fight for that but if the players play like they did today nine times out of 10 they would win. We will take this confidence into the midweek game.

"We have to rely on other teams, but we can only do our job and that is still the plan."

Patrick from Croydon: I understand points are priceless but the performance I just saw from West Brom is not premier entertainment. Bore off. I'm turning over to the cricket.

Piers: Get real Newcastle fans . You were playing a top 8 team with a centre forward in Oliveira who is unplayable.

Ashwin in Cambridge: You can see the smile on Lovren's face after the miserable season he's had. A fine performance matching the levels of the old Lovren, about the only positive from this game for a Liverpool fan.
