Josh, Crowborough: All this talk of clubs not wanting to play in Europe incenses me, players don't have the hunger they used to.

"I think Hull and Steve Bruce will be the happier, because Spurs are at home. Hull are desperate for the points, they have committed themselves, stuck to a structure and been unfortunate once or twice. 0-0 is probably about right."

"Hull are defending well and offensively we have seen enough to suggest they can score today, because Elmohamady has got in behind Rose down the right."

Riyad Mahrez was at the double for Leicester City last week but has had little impact today. He races away from Lee Cattermole does he? No. No one does do they. Professional foul from Cattermole ends the attack before it gets going.

As you can see from this touch map, Nikica Jelavic is struggling to get into the game. He's had openings but has done nothing with them. Hull need more from their main striker.

Wipe down that sweaty brow Hull fans. Is the air thinner up there Geordies?

This is worrying stuff for Queens Park Rangers. They are under the hammer here and no one more so than Nedum Onuoha at right back as Remy Cabella is the man taking much of Newcastle's play forward down the left.

His cross is cleared but put back in the mixer and Fabricio Coloccini heads down for the goalscorer but Emmanuel Riviere cannot get his feet organised and gets robbed in the box. A first-time hit was needed.

Rob from Newcastle: £6m. 18 hours of football. One goal. One man. Emmanuel Riviere. Worth every penny.

David, Worcs: Riviere could be the worst player ever to become a club legend if that goal keeps us up.

There are some very cagey games in the Premier League this afternoon. Cagier than the Ghost Rider box set. Just the one goal so far, but a significant one as it has lifted Newcastle to safety as it stands. Hull remain the team in occupation of the final relegation spot. They could dearly do with a goal at Spurs, but so far they are struggling to make any impact in the final third.

Now then, Connor Wickham gets tugged own near the edge of the box and Sunderland could be onto something here. Lots of interest in this one, Sebastian Larsson is orchestrating things like an NFL quarterback...

It's rubbish. The Swede took it short for Wickham to blast into the wall.

Hull have kept Tottenham relatively quiet, but their problem is how to shift up the gears and open up without becoming more susceptible at the back? Tottenham give warning of the threat they pose as Ryan Mason cuts a ball back for Erik Lamela to slide in and knock wide of the post.

"Jelavic has looked very sharp, and as long as Hull keep creating chances for him, eventually he will score one for you because he's a great finisher."

Rob Green plods off with help from a physio. He gets a standing ovation and who knows, that could be the end of his QPR career right there. Alex McCarthy is coming on in his place.

Nico Lennon:, external Get in! Riviere's had poor season by anyone's standards but that goal would more than repay transfer fee if it keeps us up

Rob Cobban:, external Leicester league position graph upside down looks exactly like table mountain. Lions head and all. Wonder if they planned that?

No goals yet at either Upton Park or Turf Moor. There's been little in terms of goalmouth action either. You can follow Burnley v Stoke here and West Ham v Everton here.
