Wycombe are about to make a late substitution - Nico Yennaris is struggling with cramp and is replaced by another midfielder, Peter Murphy. Yennaris is taking his time about it, and that's got the Southend bench riled up. A few tensions between the two sets of backroom staff, which still haven't died down.

A long Southend throw into the Wycombe box causes a few nervous moments but goalkeeper Alex Lynch takes charge of the situation and claims above a mass of bodies. Confident goalkeeping from a man making just his third start in the Football League.

As you would expect, Wycombe aren't throwing too many men forward when they get possession, and they're more than happy for Southend to have the ball in defensive areas.

Half-time in extra time, but Wycombe have some defending to do before the referee's whistle goes. Gareth Ainsworth's side are 15 minutes away from League One.

Steven Craig buys a cheap free-kick for Wycombe near the corner flag. Poor foul to give away by Southend left-back Ben Coker. Wycombe leave the big defenders at the back and attempt to play out time at the end of this first period of extra time.

Wycombe go on the attack again and captain Paul Hayes puts in a tame shot from 18 yards, which is easily gathered by Dan Bentley. Another stoppage imminent as Wycombe centre-back Alfie Mawson is down after an aerial battle with Barry Corr.

So then, Southend. What have you got left? About 20 minutes left for the Shrimpers to reply to Wycombe's opening goal.

Wycombe lead in the play-off final! Joe Jacobson, who escaped a penalty claim against him in the second half, curls in a superb free-kick. It hits the crossbar, comes down and bounces in off goalkeeper Dan Bentley. Heartbreaking for Bentley because the ball was heading away from goal when it struck his back and diverted into the goal.

Well, fair to say this hasn't been the most memorable of play-off finals so far. But that's not to say we won't have drama in extra time.
