    England manager Mark Sampson: "It was a positive result for us, I am really pleased for the players. They had to respond in a positive manner and they did. Our little mini Messi Fran Kirby scored and we built from that.

    "Special players step up in special moments and there is more to come from Fran. It wasn't just Fran today, though, the team was outstanding. Players from the sidelines made a difference too.

    "They are all big games. We are sensing this is a huge chance and we have to build on this performance. The players have Colombia in their mind and will be ready."
