Alex Greenwood is not quite up to speed with the pace of the game and she is caught out of position as Mexico lump the ball downfield and into the space she has vacated. Luckily for England, Stephany Mayor can't quite keep the ball in play.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 22:09 British Summer Time 13 June 2015

A change for England as left back Claire Rafferty looks to have taken a knock and she is replaced by Alex Greenwood.

I've been impressed by Lucy Bronze. She was the busiest England player in the first half with more touches of the ball than anyone else on the pitch and she tries to create a chance as she buzzes around the right side of the Mexico area. Her cross is cleared but England eventually win a corner. It is poor, though, by Toni Duggan and Mexico clear.

"Not an ideal start to the second half, you want to be settled when you come out. England know the pressure they are under, it is a must-win game."

There weren't loads of highlights in that first half, but Eni Aluko smacking the ball against the bar was certainly one of them.

A change at the break for Mexico with defender Valeria Miranda on for Bianca Sierra. On to try and nullify the threat posed by Eni Aluko?

  7. KICK-OFFpublished at 22:00 British Summer Time 13 June 2015

Back under way in Moncton. Big half for England ahead.

There is one other World Cup game going on at the moment, Brazil versus Spain, and the former are winning at the break, Alves da Silva scoring just before the break.

You can watch that game here.

Pete Cooper: Almost a bit of magic from Aluko. Really showing what she's capable of. Need more of that in the second half

Rebecca Hindle: Much better by England and that was a good half unlucky we aren't in front

Helen: Ooooo, just hit the post Eni Aluko. Surely it's only a matter of time?

    England

England international Natasha Dowie: "Towards the end of the first half we used the width a bit more. At the beginning of the game we were forcing it central too much and the players were getting crowded out.

"It has been great play by England at times to get into good positions, but just that final shot is not testing the keeper enough."

"England took their time to get going in that half but after shaking off any nervousness, they finished strongly. Karen Bardsley has yet to be troubled in the England goal and their front three are creating chances."

  12. Postpublished at 21:45 British Summer Time 13 June 2015

    Sue Smith
Former England forward on BBC Three

"Fantastic effort from Eni Aluko. Her and Toni Duggan need to do different things, one go short, one go long. Aluko came out wide onto the left side and there was only one thing on her mind - shooting with her right foot."

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 21:45 British Summer Time 13 June 2015

A good end to the half for England, who had the better of that half. You would imagine Eni Aluko's effort will give them confidence to attack more after the break.

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Former England goalkeeper

"What a powerful shot it was. That is what you get from Eni Aluko playing from the left, she can cut in and get a shot away. The Mexico keeper was nowhere near it. More positivity from England."

  15. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:45 British Summer Time 13 June 2015

Brilliant from Eni Aluko! Mark Sampson had moved her out to the left not so long ago and it almost pays dividends as she picks up the ball midway inside the Mexico half, runs at a backtracking defender before cutting on to her right and striking a fine effort that smashes off the top of the bar.

    Alistair Magowan

"Better spell from England, finding their confidence and rhythm. This is a game where they need to impose themselves. Mark Sampson having a decent chat with assistant coach Marianne Spacey on the bench as the break approaches."

  17. Postpublished at 21:41 British Summer Time 13 June 2015

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Former England goalkeeper

"It has been more colourful and positive than against France. They started quite defensively in that game and didn't create much. They are much more attacking against Mexico."

  18. Postpublished at 21:41 British Summer Time 13 June 2015

England have certainly looked more threatening than they did against France. In that game they managed just three shots, one of those on target. So far in this game they have had eight attempts on goal, with four of those on target, the latest of which is a low but weak effort by Jade Moore.

Harriet Drudge: That's better England! Better tempo, passing and pressure from the front. Kirby and Duggan getting into the game more now too.

Nathan Coleclough: Bronze and Kirby have been about the most impressive, but the lack of quality in the final third is very noticeable.

  20. Postpublished at 21:38 British Summer Time 13 June 2015

Mark Sampson looks to have made a tactic tweak, with Eni Aluko moving out wide and Toni Duggan now occupying the central striker role. Looks to still be 4-3-3.
