Is Daley Blind a weak link in the Manchester United side? He does add composure and a neat pass from the back, as he shows by playing his way nicely out of trouble. Memphis Depay is booked for hauling down his man, with Wayne Routledge also in the book soon after.

Fair to say Memphis Depay is winning the battle of the left wingers early on against Swansea's Wayne Routledge. The touch maps below show Depay (right) has had far more involvement.

The Liberty Stadium is rocking after that period of Swansea pressure.

Having been momentarily silenced by Manchester United's strident start to the match, the home crowd has found its voice with Bafetimbi Gomis and Gylfi Sigurdsson going close for the Swans.

Another really poor kick from Sergio Romero in the Manchester United goal. And at the other end that's not much better from Wayne Rooney as he chips tamely at Lukasz Fabianski.

Will David De Gea be back between the sticks soon?

Chris Smalling brings the ball out for Manchester United, nails jack Cork in a tasty-looking challenge and then pumps the ball into the box. Wayne Rooney is onside and it's a decent opening - but he hammers a volley horribly high and wide.

A poor connection. But a very good game emerging...

Brilliant effort! Remember when Bafetimbi Gomis was kicking off last season about not starting enough games? This is why.

He tortures Daley Blind with a brilliant turn, hands off Chris Smalling and ten stretches to toe a shot against the base of the post. Unplayable stuff from the big man.

"Gomis is linking up well with Ayew, his old strike partner from Marseille. He's making good runs, he wants to go in behind and stretch defenders. But Swansea miss that outlet ball that Montero gives them so well."

But that is VERY close! Swansea play in a quick free-kick into the penalty area, there's a clever step over and it runs into the path of Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Icelander hits it early, low and across the keeper - but a yard wide! Moments later United keeper Sergio Romero duffs a clearance straight to Jonjo Shelvey, who goes for the first-time lob but Romero recovers to save. Swans on song!

Not particularly close to be honest but Swansea's best moment. Andre Ayew with a lovely lofted through-ball, one he learned from dad in the garden, into the run of Bafetimbi Gomis. With Chris Smalling closing him down he has to shoot early from 20 yards and he screws the shot well wide. 

Swansea's heat map, below left, shows how much they are struggling as an attacking force early on compared to Manchester United...

Best chance so far. Ander Herrera drifts into that hole behind Wayne Rooney and collects a pass from Memphis Depay, a half-turn and quick pass finds Juan Mata on the right of the area, and he shoots wide under pressure.
