Delia was delighted. The Canaries fans were tweeting [in the old sense] - what a great day for Alex Neil and his side.

The catalyst for much that was good was midfielder Wes Hoolahan, who scored the second.

This is what reporter Emlyn Begley wrote:

"The Republic of Ireland attacking midfielder linked up with Cameron Jerome well throughout, setting up the striker to hit the side netting with a clever through ball.

"And then moments later, holding his shin pad in his hand for reasons unknown, he beat Cook with some brilliant skill before finding Jerome to scramble home."

Maybe the 'shin pad' routine was learnt on the training ground?

As for Cherries boss Eddie Howe (pictured):

"Maybe there was a bit of a lack of confidence after going behind, but we ended up chasing the game and making some bad decisions. That cost us."

    His side are 15th.

Following Anthony Martial's splendid Manchester United debut yesterday, we want you to let us know about  a memorable debut you've had for your amateur team.

Luke, Bournemouth:   When I was nine I played my first game for the under 11s. Two years below everyone else. I was tiny and the opposing team all laughed when I came on. I scored a hat-trick in eight minutes. They weren't laughing at the end.

Jack, Devon:  Turned up five mins before kick-off they needed a 'keeper for a cup game. Broke my nose in 90 mins to take it to extra time. I carried on, saved the first two penalties and then stood up and scored our last penalty to win.

Just over a week after tweeting he would not play for chairman Jeremy Peace, Saido Berahino played for West Brom.

Maybe he should tweet, "What I meant was..."

Anyway, the England striker, who wanted to move to Tottenham in the last window, came on in the second half of this rather dull affair, and was booed by some of the Hawthorns crowd. Expected.

If Sunderland beat Spurs today and Newcastle defeat West Ham on Monday then Chelsea will be in the bottom three. Bottom three after five games!

The defence again looked laboured at Goodison Park, while John Stones [of linked with a move to Chelsea fame] swept away any attacking threat that came his way.

Didn't another protest plane fly past Goodison again? That's two planes and two wins.

There was debate on Match of the Day on Saturday (UK viewers) about whether Theo Walcott should play up front for the Gunners.

He scored a lovely goal but fluffed up another chance. What do you lot reckon?

Whatever the answer, Arsene Wenger's side have managed to do the thing where they get constantly criticised but still end up in the top four. They are currently third.

Those who don't. You'd have a word like... 'Martial' then have to find another word most commonly associated with it.

The Independent went with 'Arts' to highlight £38m teenager Anthony Martial's lovely weave and strike for Manchester United on his debut in the 3-1 win over Liverpool.

There was plenty of pomp and circumstance in the Premier League yesterday.

    • Seven matches and 16 goals.
    • A virtuoso attacking display by Steven Naismith v Everton
    • Superb solos by Anthony "possibly worth about £60m in the future" Martial, and Christian Benteke
    • And... a win for Watford.

We will look back at yesterday's action and look ahead to the two Premier League matches today.

Sit back, shove on Elgar and read this.
