Shot on target! Wayne Rooney nods a header at goalkeeper Yann Sommer, it was never going in but fine play on the right from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Dadoffay, with all due respect, you've lost it...

Wayne Andrews:  Currently on a working visit to Saudi Arabia - luckily, the local sports channel ISN'T showing England-v-Switzerland...

Dadoffay:  As a German supporter, I do think it has to be England's turn to win a title, with all the talent around - then I watch you..

I don't know if someone has got the shackles on Ross Barkley. There is so much talent there. Of all the games to express yourself and play with that freedom...today is the day."

Will Wayne Rooney get goal number 50? I'd settle for a shot on target. From either side.

Rust James: Can we have a re-run of the Northern Ireland match instead of this boring drivel.

Just Adam:  Mentality of footballers, England have qualified, this game is pointless to them, why waste their energy or risk injury?

Viv: With this level of performance, one just wonders what would happen had England been in a more competitive group.

BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Well that's 45 minutes no-one inside Wembley will ever get back. Tedious in the extreme, no real chances for England and no real urgency. The excuse might be that England are playing like a team that has already reached Euro 2016 - but they need to be better than this in any circumstances."

My thing about Raheem Sterling is he needs to vary the way he attacks. Good wingers will get a yard, cross it and keep the full-back guessing. Raheem hasn't done enough of that. England have qualified and this game has got the feeling of a friendly. It's just been very pedestrian."

  12. Euro 2016 qualifiers updatepublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 8 September 2015

Could it be Russia instead of Sweden that takes the second automatic qualifying spot from Group G? They lead Liechtenstein 3-0 at half-time while the Swedes are losing 2-0 at home to Austria, who are set to qualify.

Russia will have 14 points, while the Swedes will be on 12 as things stand.

Belarus lead Luxembourg 1-0 in Group C. Sixteen members of the Luxembourg squad had suffered from food poisoning from eating spaghetti bolognese on Sunday while in Minsk.

Joel Sparks:  Games like this show why England don't do well at tournaments. They lack the guile to open up well organised defences
