Joe Hart is City's Mr. motivator, minus the spandex. He's barking out orders, encouragement and appreciation to his team-mates behind him in the tunnel. Every City fan tonight has got a free scarf by the looks of it.

Juve skipper Gigi Buffon gives Hart a friendly slap on the back before shaking the officials by the hand. Legend.

Answers to the following question please:  'An English club will not win the Champions League this season, because...'

Victor Madhow:  Because they don't have a Ronaldo/Bale/Benzema or Neymar/Suarez/Messi strike force that can hit a total of 60-80 goals per season.

Hon.UgopeterUche : Because the authorities have blatantly refused to introduce a winter break.

Jay:  Because Mourinho's got the blues.

One thing Manchester City have learned in the Champions League is that you just can't play two central midfielders.

Interestingly, it looks like Juventus are doing exactly that tonight. Bold?

Paul Humphreys:  An English club won't win the Champions League this season because Barca have Messi, Madrid have Ronaldo & Bayern have Muller.

Manjeet:  An English club will not win the Champions League this season, because Leicester City have not qualified.

Tommy B, London:  Because Tino Asprilla doesn't play for Newcastle any more. And Newcastle aren't in the Champions League.

With this year's final being hosted in Milan's San Siro, Juventus may have some added enthusiasm to go all the way and make history.

Only two teams have ever won the Champions League on home soil: Borussia Dortmund (1997, final in Munich) and Juventus themselves (1996, final in Rome), while Manchester United lost the 2011 final in London and 12 months later Bayern were beaten in the showpiece in their own stadium.

    Pat Nevin
BBC Radio 5 live at the Etihad Stadium

"You notice teams that don’t have pace in Europe. They will only get so far. I think Raheem Sterling will make a massive difference when he turns on the afterburners in his career at Manchester City.

"But what’s been most noticeable is City's lack of tinkering at the back this season. You tend to win championships and trophies when you don’t give goals away and they look really strong there."

Twenty minutes to go until kick-off, we've all missed the Champions League haven't we?

I know I have. Manchester United's front four looks more mobile tonight with Anthony Martial up there. Can that bring out the best in Memphis Depay?

Over on BBC Radio 5 live, host Mark Chapman and Pat Nevin have been grilling Italian football journalist Gabriele Marcotti on Juventus' plans for tonight.

Marcotti: "It's quite an attacking line up. I think they looked at it as a game in which they could afford to gamble. If they sat back and played for draw, they'd lose. Maybe they thought: Let’s unleash Juan Cuadrado on the break and see how Bacary Sagna likes it.

Nevin: "And who wins in the physical battle between Yaya Toure and Paul Pogba tonight?"

Marcotti: "It’ll be a tremendous battle. Yaya is probably stronger, while Pogba is more dynamic, I mean he's 10 years younger. It will be one of many fascinating subtexts this evening."

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

"One of world football's hottest properties is currently going through his warm-up at Etihad Stadium.

"Juventus midfield man Paul Pogba, who was allowed to escape from Manchester United, attracted Manchester City's attention in the summer but a £70m price tag, plus the 22-year-old personal demands, made the deal too rich for even their Abu Dhabi-based owners...and every other elite club it appears."
