The pictures of Luke Shaw's injury are really very concerning. We shouldn't speculate about the nature of his injury but put it this way, I wouldn't bank on him playing again for at least six months.

"We're going to have to have at least 10 minutes added on here. Eventually Luke Shaw was raised on to a trolley-stretcher, and there was warm applause as he was taken off the pitch.

"The game had been buzzing but it's flat now as the players try to re-find their rhythm."

After a long, long, long delay, Luke Shaw leaves the field on a stretcher. We will bring you news as soon as we have it but the England man is on the gas and air. A sporting round of applause from all four stands as Louis van Gaal comforts Shaw as he goes down the tunnel.

"I've counted about nine different medical staff come on the pitch to attend to Luke Shaw. At first they brought a stretcher and then that was sent back with a new one more like a trolley coming on. There's been various bits of equipment coming out of silver cases, and the players are keeping warm knocking the ball around. 

"They've only shown the replay once on the screens here, and it does not look good at all for Shaw."

Luke Shaw is still down.This is undoubtedly serious now as the players resort to playing passes to each other to keep warm.

Less than 20 minutes in and Paul Pogba has covered almost every part of the pitch. Point to prove?

The potential severity of Luke Shaw's injury is illustrated by the fact that he is still having treatment. A long wait for the unfortunate left-back. 

Since that flurry of crowd backing City have indeed stepped it up. David Silva has got on the ball more, and that can only be a good thing for his side. A class act.

He links up with Raheem Sterling neatly on two or three occasions. Elusive.

Luke Shaw has started the season well and this is a brilliant run, he glides past two men and gets a shot away. The challenge comes in from Hector Moreno and catches Shaw - and the England man is in trouble.

A stretcher is called for. Shaw in pain.
