    Bordeaux 0-0 Liverpool

The home side well on top, camped in the Liverpool half at the moment. They are quicker in the tackle and their passing is sharp. Wahbi Khazri has been the most impressive man so far, his succulent cross into the box is headed away by Kolo Toure

Borussia Dortmund may be unbeaten under new manager Thomas Tuchel but they've gone 1-0 down to Russian club Krasnodar this evening.

In the other game in Liverpool's group, Sion of Switzerland lead Rubin Kazan 1-0, while the other game in Celtic's group, between Fenerbahce and Molde,is goalless.

And Napoli are well on the way to three points - they're leading Club Brugge 2-0 already.

Post on the MOTD Facebook page

Tonight we're asking:  Which British side will go furthest in this season's Europa League and why?

Steven Roche:  Celtic can get second if they get a decent result tonight. A loss and we're chasing the group already. Probably get to the 32 but be put out same as last year.

Bit surprised a lot of people are saying Liverpool and Spurs won't bother as the winners get a guaranteed CL place and given how competitive the top four race will be, I'd have thought both would make it a priority. Nothing would bring Pool fans back on Rodgers' side than bringing European glory back to Anfield. I can see both reaching the semi-finals.

    Bordeaux 0-0 Liverpool

Bordeaux captain Henri Saivet gives Adam Lallana a little shove after being brought down by the Liverpool man. Getting a bit spicy in France. Which team can break the deadlock though? The home side have certainly grown into the game in the last 10 minutes.

  5. CLOSE!published at 18:19

    Bordeaux 0-0 Liverpool

Liverpool's defence go missing again! This time Nicolas Maurice-Belay is left open at the back post, he picks out the much-involved Wahbi Khazri, who scuffs his effort wide. Should have done much better, he was unchallenged in the middle of the box.

    Bordeaux 0-0 Liverpool

Kolo Toure is back on, he looks OK to continue for now. Can he make it through the match? Liverpool need him, with a lack of experience on the bench.

    Bordeaux 0-0 Liverpool

Ton up tonight for Liverpool's Belgian keeper. Apart from cleaning out his own man Kolo Toure, it's been a quiet opening for him thus far.

    Bordeaux 0-0 Liverpool

Kolo Toure in trouble again! The resulting free-kick is swung into the box, Simon Mignolet comes for the ball and takes out Toure, having got nowhere near the ball. Toure looks in a lot of trouble as he limps off the pitch. It looks like a hip problem. Concern for Brendan Rodgers, as Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren have not travelled.

    Ajax 0-1 Celtic

Ajax responding well to falling behind and Jozo Simunovic does well to snuff out a promising move.

    Good atmosphere in Amsterdam.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18:13

    Kolo Toure (Liverpool)

Wahbi Khazri glides past Kolo Toure, who fouls with his hip and brings the Bordeaux man down. The Ivorian gets an early yellow card.

  11. CLOSE!published at 18:12

    Bordeaux 0-0 Liverpool

Emre Can attempts an overhead kick at one end which is easily saved.

Bordeaux break at the other but where is the Liverpool defence? Diego Rolan is clean through on goal after collecting a cross-field pass, but his dinked effort has too much on it and lands on the roof of the net.

A let-off for the Reds. More scribbling for Brendan Rodgers to do.

  12. goal

    GOAL - Ajax 0-1 Celticpublished at 18:08

    Nir Bitton (8 mins)

The visitors strike first, and it's a rasping drive! Nir Bitton is found by Kris Commons, who showed neat footwork, and the Israeli midfielder finds the net from the angle with a first-time shot. Nicely done!

    Bordeaux 0-0 Liverpool

The Liverpool vice-captain not playing tonight, but watching at home, it seems. Brendan Rodgers on the bench already scribbling away on his notepad.

"Must remember to get milk, bread and biscuits."

  14. CLOSE!published at 18:05

    Bordeaux 0-0 Liverpool

First shot and it's nearly there. Dangerman Phillipe Coutinho finds space on the edge of the area, but his low, left-footed strike is dragged wide of goal. Good link-up play with Divock Origi in the build-up there.

    Bordeaux 0-0 Liverpool

Wahbi Khazri has a chance to whip an inswinging free-kick into the Liverpool box, but it's a poor one, failing to clear the first man. The home fans are in good voice.

  16. Postpublished at 18:02

    Bordeaux 0-0 Liverpool

First foray forward by Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno, whose cross into the box is easily gathered by Cedric Carrasso. No problems there.
