"They deserved to win, they were better. They wanted it more, circumstances were in their advantage but we never came into the game.

"You warn, you warn you warn your players, everyone knows the scenario. But then the defending was a disgrace at this level, to give players that much room.

"To the outside world we must stay together. There is always the risk that things could fall apart."

"I didn't think we could win! They are a full-time side with top players but the boys have proved me wrong. I've never felt so emotional after a game.

"Most people know the ambition of the owners. We are putting Salford City on the map. The owners said don't worry about the cups this season, let's concentarte on the league!

Man of the match James Poole: "I'm not sure I deserve man of the match but that is the very best moment of my career and I'm sure that's the case for all of us. It's something special and I hope everyone enjoys it.

"We thought the draw was perfect for us. We've got so much self-belief and as soon as we saw the draw we thought we had a chance. If that had been 4-0 or 5-0 I don't think they could have complained.

"It means a lot to the owners. It's something different to what they've been involved in before in the FA Cup.

"The volunteers ARE Salford City. They are the heart and soul of the club and their work goes unnoticed, but not by the lads. This win is for them."
