    Sheff Wed 3-0 Arsenal

It has taken until the 70th minute of the game for Arsenal to produce their second attempt on target. In fairness, it is a good one as Per Mertesacker's header is palmed over.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:14

Jose Mourinho talks to substitute KenedyImage source, Reuters

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is going for it. He gives some instructions into the ear of Kenedy before sending the midfielder on for defender Baba Rahman. The Blues go three at the back.

    Nineteen minutes to go.

The changes appear to have done the trick for Everton as they grab an equaliser, the evergreen Leon Osman finishes from Kevin Mirallas' cutback, his scuffed effort catching everyone out and rolling into the far corner.

I've never seen such disinterest from senior players in an Arsenal side before. I get it's not glamorous, I get it's cold, I even get that you have to wear a shoddy money-grabbing third cup kit, but suck it up and at least show the kids how to go out with a fight.

    Stoke 1-0 Chelsea

Jon Walters is brimming with confidence at the moment and he has another go from distance but this time his strike is over the bar.

Jose Mourinho has never lost a League Cup game inside 90 minutes before. He has little under half-an-hour to prevent that run from coming to an end.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:07

    Hull 0-0 Leicester

Just Hull and Leicester letting the side down at the moment, with their game still goalless.

That could be about to change, though, as the Premier League's top scorer Jamie Vardy is introduced.

"Chelsea have played well, they haven't played badly. But they haven't been making the right decisions in the final third, their finishing has not been good enough. Now the nerves are starting to creep in and Stoke have more energy."

    Everton 0-1 Norwich

At the moment, Everton are going out of the League Cup and Roberto Martinez looks to shake things up by introducing Ross Barkley and Gerard Deulofeu for defender Tyias Browning and Arouna Kone. Fans are not happy with that, though, booing at the departure of Kone.

I was chatting with a colleague today saying if Wenger fields our second string we will lose! I don't think injuries are our problem in this cup!

    Adam, Arsenal fan

Shocking team selection by Wenger, clearly showing he has no respect for Sheffield Wednesday and is rightfully being punished.

It is looking increasingly unlikely that the Leicester City players will be tucking into pizzas later. Hull City go close again as this time Ryan Taylor heads just over from a cross.

Hillsborough is bouncing as Sheffield Wednesday add a third! Shocking defending by Arsenal, though, as a free-kick is sent to the right side of the area and no-one spots Glenn Loovens peeling away from the defence. He crosses first time into the middle of the area for Sam Hutchinson to fire home.

"What a finish - Chelsea could have had Begovic and Courtois in the goal and they would not have saved that. It is a wonder strike. But you've got to look at Cahill - he dropped off and let Walters turn. Jose Mourinho looks like a lonely figure on the touchline."

    What. A. Strike!

Brilliant goal by Jon Walters to stun Chelsea as the striker brings the ball under control on the edge of the box and lets fly with a rasping drive that smacks the underside of the bar and lands in the back of the net.

Is Jose Mourinho's bad run set to continue?

An early change for Stoke with Marc Muniesa going off with what appears to be a muscle injury. Marc Wilson is on. He had a shocker against Watford at the weekend, can he make amends today?

These common injuries aren't a coincidence anymore at Arsenal. The entire medical team has to be replaced, it's not good enough. We have one of the deepest squads in the league to cope with a few injuries but we now start Joel Campbell. It keeps happening every season, replace all of them now. I wouldn't mind Eva Carneiro coming.
