See below. If City win 4-3 on the night then Everton will go through because away goals count after extra time.

Wide open here and how Manchester City needed that swift response to Ross Barkley's superb opener for Everton.

Barkley occasionally feels the rough edge of the tongue of Everton's fans which can sometimes stifle a wonderful natural talent - but that goal showed he can produce the moments that make a difference.

Manchester City right back in it now but Everton not taking a backward step.

Andy Rudd: This why I don't believe , we play well, still no luck at all, how many deflected goals have we conceded this season?

Man City 1-1 Everton (Agg: 2-3)

Manchester City respond superbly and level things up on the night now. David Silva lofts a clever ball over the top for Sergio Aguero to chase, he shoots, it's blocked and runs on for Fernandinho 25 yards out. The midfielder hits a booming drive, Leighton Baines makes himself big to block it and can only clip it over his own keeper and in. Unlucky.

  14. CLOSE!published at 22 mins

Man City 0-1 Everton (Agg: 1-3)

Everton have a swagger now after that early goal. City will still fancy their chances though, especially with the way Everton have been defending. Everton have seven men behind the ball so City will have to move it quick to shift them out of the way. They do this time though and Yaya Toure shoots over.

Was Sergio Aguero fouled in the build-up to that opening goal? Possibly. But Everton still had an awful lot to do from there...

"Stunning goal from Ross Barkley. Was it a foul on Sergio Aguero by Ramiro Funes Mori? Ball played to Barkley, he drives at the heart of the City defence and hits an unstoppable right-foot shot. City are defensively all over the place."

GOAL - Man City 0-1 Everton (Agg: 1-3)published at 18 mins

    Ross Barkley

What a goal! A brilliant counter-attack again as Nicolas Otamendi dives in and tries to challenge Ross Barkley about 45 yards from goal when he didn't need to. Barkley shrugs him off and his route to goal is clear. The England man drives on, great pace, and then from the edge of the area he fires in low and hard.

City have it all to do now...

Everton are playing on the break brilliantly. City having all of the ball but for the second time they see Everton attack down the right and for the second time it almost leads to a goal. This time Ross Barkley whips it in, Romelu Lukaku is so close to meeting it in the middle.
