  1. 'I don't see Messi in the Premier League'published at 19:51 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Spurs & England midfielder on Radio 5 live

"Guardiola and Messi had a very good working relationship. But I don't see him coming to the Premier League. Manchester City might have a better chance of getting someone like Neymar. He strikes me as the sort of man who likes to be the star."

Mark, would love a tea myself, whilst doing my paperwork. No sugar.

    Dr Sanj xx ;-)

Yeah, don't think that was meant for us but I'd hate to see someone go without a brew.

Mark, if you're reading this, get the kettle on...

Jordi Gomez is on his way to Blackburn for a medical ahead of a loan move from Sunderland.

Black Cats manager Sam Allardyce is trying to reshape his squad and has already told striker Steven Fletcher he can join Marseille.

Gomez has five seasons in the north-west with Wigan and played in their FA Cup final win over Manchester City in 2013.

He left at the end of the following season.

  4. Could Man City sign Messi?published at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    BBC Radio 5 Live

The Times chief football writer Henry Winter on Radio 5 live: "He's in the greatest toy department in the world. Why would Lionel Messi come here? Why would he exhaust himself for nine months of the season for Manchester City in the Premier League?"

Swansea City set to sign QPR midfielder Leroy Fer on loan until the end of the season.

    Is that a good move?

  7. Postpublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    BBC Radio 5 Live

The Times chief football writer Henry Winter on Radio 5 live: "Any player linked with Manchester City from now on, people will be wondering whether it's a Pep Guardiola choice."

  8. Medical for Imbulapublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    Stoke City

The big man at Stoke is having his medical as we speak. Type. You know what I mean.

Clear a space in the car park. Xherdan Shaqiri, you need to move down...

  9. DONE DEALpublished at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    Chesterfield

Chesterfield, who signed midfielders Connor Dimaio and Gary Liddle earlier, have completed their deadline day hat-trick with the arrival of Tom Anderson from Burnley.

The 22-year-old centre-half has joined on loan for the rest of the season.

  10. 'A Vieira type'published at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    Stoke City

Stoke are close to signing Porto midfielder Giannelli Imbula, and earlier this afternoon we spoke to a potential team-mate in Charlie Adam.

Far from being annoyed at falling down the pecking order, Adam is very happy about the move, and told us that he was impressed with him when they met last year.

“We played Porto in a friendly in Germany last summer and I thought he was excellent” Adam told BBC Sport.

"He went off injured during the game because I gave him a little kick and gave him a dead leg, but he showed against us that he has the right qualities to play in England.

“I would say he is a Patrick Vieira type - a strong and powerful midfielder, a real driving force in there and perfect for the Premier League.”

  11. Cargill set for Coventrypublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

Bournemouth defender Baily Cargill, 20, looks set for a loan switch to League One side Coventry City...

  12. DONE DEALpublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    Portsmouth

Michael Smith, who we mentioned earlier, has now completed his 93-day loan deal from Swindon Town to League Two side Portsmouth.

By our maths, that means the only Pompey game the forward will miss is their match at home to Northampton Town on the final day.

  13. Postpublished at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    BBC Radio 5 Live

The Times chief football writer Henry Winter on Radio 5 live: "I've seen people questioning Pep Guardiola's achievements. Have they seen Bayern Munich play recently? Have they seen the beauty, the intensity, the urgency? He is a class act, and one of the most driven individuals you could meet. He has a huge hunger to win, and that must rub off on the players."

  14. 'Pep will improve you'published at 19:29 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Spurs & England midfielder on Radio 5 live

"As a player, you would like to go and play under Pep because you know he would improve you. Some of the top players in Europe are not just about money. There was a time when that was all City had to offer, but Guardiola gives them a different attraction."

  15. Loaded with Peppublished at 19:29 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    Manchester City

It may have been the dullest day in deadline-day history when it comes to signings, but at least we have had one MASSIVE story as Manchester City confirmed this lunchtime that Pep Guardiola will be their new manager from the summer.

    Thoughts?

  16. 'January window is farcical'published at 19:25 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    Danny Murphy
MOTD pundit and ex-Liverpool midfielder on Radio 5 live

"Clubs are getting much more clued up to the fact that Transfer Deadline Day is not the ideal time to overpay and overspend. There are a lot of January signings that will fail because it's so hard to hit the ground running mid-season. I'm of the opinion that the January transfer window will be scrapped, because it's becoming a little bit farcical."

  19. Falcao misses out on Atletico returnpublished at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2016

    Saj Chowdhury
    BBC Sport

"Chelsea's misfit striker Falcao, on season-long loan from Monaco, could have returned to former club Atletico Madrid in January. However, that possibility was scuppered by Atletico striker Jackson Martinez's failure to seal a move to China. Monaco expect the 29-year-old to remain at Stamford Bridge until the summer."

    Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Spurs & England midfielder on Radio 5 live

"It's quite refreshing that we haven't seen a lot of the madness associated with Transfer Deadline Day. You hear Arsene Wenger say year in, year out: 'The players are out there, but they have to be right for the club.' And I think that's the right attitude."
